Nice job on doing what you had to do even though it was a setback in earning her trust. At the end of the day you did what was best and hopefully she takes to the new warm living accommodations.

Growing up I had a cat whose favorite thing in the world was 12-pack soda boxes. She would play in them for hours. She could only fit about a third of her fat self into one but it didn't keep her from trying for hours on end to get the whole cat in there. She'd even run from across the room and dive into them. Still didn't work but damn did she have tenacity.

 

Not mine, he belongs to my GF but he is winning me over a bit. I'm not a cat person, nothing against cats in general they just never interested me. Clarence behaves more like a dog in the sense that he will interact with you, he will come over and smack your leg when he wants a treat. I introduced him to beacon, he turns into a zombie when he smells it!

 

ummm dunno how to break this to you...but...Sounds like hes got you trained already...

The witching hour…dinner time

 

Making progress this morning by putting our cats in a back room then placing the feral kitten's breakfast just inside the back door leaving the door slightly open.

I backed away to the far side of the room she then came in cautiously and ate. After she finished eating she looked around the house from the backdoor before exiting.

I did cut a hole in the old cooler placing a cat bed inside for now until I find some straw. She did stick her head in but I've yet to see her enter it. I've read I may need to cut another hole as feral cats require an exit to feel safe inside.

Notice the squared off left ear notating she's a spay and release.

We named her "Sara"

 

Might need a bigger hole?

 

It looks small in that pic but my house cats went in with no problems. Thought it should be only as big as needed to help keep out the cold but I'll enlarge it if people with more cat knowledge than me say to.

 

Stick some food treats in there if you find one the cat likes. Id open it a little more like a pet door. She will tame down, you can see she wants to otherwise she wouldnt stick around
