    Calguns... isn't that an oxymoron?

    How goes the welding?

Oh yeah, that forum had a handful of great contributors while a bunch of others were acting like damn law enforcement and translating their own version of the law.

    Used to love that forum.

Next week, I start brazing! They want to put an extra focus on it because I mentioned my interest in TIG.

Got any suggestions/tips for brazing? Everyone's telling me I'll pick it up easily after seeing my oxyfuel cutting :D

You won't have any trouble brazing. You can actually braze with Tig once you know how and then you don't need the gas torch all that often anymore. But yeah they're pretty similar when attaching two metals at a joint. But with brazing you can also build up material and because it's often a bronze or a brass filler you can use it to create wear surfaces and such too or joints that actually need to fill into a surface you can't reach kind of like soldering.

How's it working with copper wire?

They'll have me braze without a filler metal, then later with.

One of the guys said he loved using copper because it just puddles nicely and if you build it up too much, just melt and push it easily.

Supposed to make a dice, we'll see how that comes out. Nice thing is we keep everything we make, even just misc items during class. I cut out a bunch of shapes for someone for his kids

Cut a heart, star (that one was a little difficult), horseshoe and other shapes with the torch.

Way overkill from 6.5 grendel being that it's FFP.

You can get away with SFP to 1k yards, and grendel ain't getting that far.....accurately.

I'd opt for a used Razor in that price range that way you have clearer glass as well as a scope you can swap onto other rifles.

When I was messing with it I REALLY wanted it right then and there. I frequent their shop a lot and on a first name basis so I get a employee discount through one guy too.

How much could you get it for?

Naw, the PST line-up is where you'd want to start as they have better glass than their lower lines.
