Hey All, has this ever happened to anyone else? I was driving my 08 Access Cab about 85 on the freeway, went over a weird dip on a transition, not hard mind you, but a noticeable jostle. About a mile later still going about 85, my driver side door popped open on it's own to my utter surprise (aka WTF freak-out). I know that it was closed and locked tight after I got in the car. Searched the boards and TSBs but found nothing, should I be concerned?

FWIW the dealer told me if the doors got banged up (like in this avalon my mom smacked up) they can fly open.. the mechanism is to blame.
but it may be dealer mumbo jumbo to scare her into taking it there for anything.
    good luck

Sounds like your locking mechanism needs to be adjusted. There is a certain amount of play in the suicide doors and when you went over the bump you exceeded that limit as your locking mechanism is set. Since there is no B frame like there is in the 4 door there is a lot more flex in the Access Cab.

Get you door adjusted and you will be fine.

I've had my driver side seat belt get pinched in the access door
and when i tried to close the driver door it sort of halfway latched.
I noticed the belt was tight and saw the pinch...opened it back
up, removed the belt and all was fine...

I wasnt moving of course, but maybe your belt was slightly pinched
or there was something else wedged in there?...and it seemed
closed but really wasn't properly latched?

bet that was freaky going 85.

I am able to shut my driver door enough to turn the open door light off, but yet the door is still not completely shut.

Although you felt it was properly shut, I'm willing to bed the latch wasn't fully engaged.

Either that or your truck is trying to tell you something...
