Well finally got it to the house. 93 pickup 4wd body only has 156,000 miles on it. Motor not sure. Going to pick up the motor sometime this week and take it to be rebuilt. Fingers crossed it don’t take forever and that it doesn’t need much besides freshening up. Was gunna do it myself but my cousin is a tech at Toyota and has rebuilt plenty of 22res for me and other family members in the past so just figured I’d let him do it.

I signed up for one of the "mild" trail rides many months ago. Since then, I've acquired a taste for more "spicy" trails. I'm undecided if I want to take the time to go on the ride. I do want to go to see the vendors. I've been learning more about Ozarks trails and had a great outing over Labor Day weekend. Here's a short video summary of the Labor Day event.

I'm in Hot Springs, AR. Does anyone know where you can have a tune job on a 2019 Tacoma?

Welcome! There's a few guys around that have all the OVTune stuff that will have meetups to work on people's trucks, but I don't know any of them.

Just putting a feeler out...thinking about possibly parting with my Softopper and rack combo and replacing it with an Alucab cannopy. I'd need to get $1,400 out of the pair to not loose sleep over it, I've got about $1,800 in them FWIW. One detail to note: the rack attaches to the mounting points that the factory tonnau cover uses, I had it mad this way to save space on the utility rail.

Plan B would be to diy a hardshell type cap the same dimensions as the Softopper to work with this rack then sell the topper off by itself.

EDIT: nah, Alu-Cab it is. Rack and topper are FS.

Got the motor picked up and taken to the local toyota guru who happens to be a family member. Motor still had oil in it when i picked it up, no visible holes in the block or cracks in the head. Bad is its already been rebuilt or torn into once. So here is to hoping its a rather smooth and fast rebuild.
Also if someone has any parts laying around for a 85-95 im going to need: A clutch and radiator and if someone has any 31x10.50r15s laying around they want to get rid of thatd be cool too.

    Yeah.
I got a new radiator for my '92 from AutoZone for under $100. Clutch kits are cheap as well. Fingers crossed that all is good. At a minimum, check the timing chain guides, that's usually the first part to wear out.

@PinnaclePete I learned how to drive on Deltick logging roads when I was 13. I could get to the roads without going out on a highway. I actually started driving at 12 on paved back roads with supervision.

Soon afterward my neighbor buddy and I would take an old 2 WD 1953 Chevy out during summers and run the logging roads while our parents were at work.

If we got stuck it meant using a come-along to get out or walking out of the woods to get another buddy to pull us out.

Our dads would have grounded or whipped our butts if we ever got stuck. I learned how to find a workaround at an early age. We avoided getting stuck at all costs.

    My how times have changed.
