I haven’t chalk tested them to be honest but I also desperately need an alignment. 45 just seems to ride the best right now

At 40 psi cold they reach 45 for me. The temp here is like 96 (feels like 110)

I've ran 235/85/16 on my 2nd gen since 2012, currently siped DuraTracs, just waiting on delivery of my 3rd gen DCTRDOR and I'll move them to that truck. ARB front, Rocktec rear bumpers, OME 886, Dakars

    My work truck.

I run the same size on my '97 Hilux in Central America

from viewing the photos on this thread, most people are running stock wheels or steel wheels. the cooper st/maxx 235/85r16 spec is a 6-7.5" rim width. fsw and scs only make a 16x8, as do most other aftermarket manufacturers. are there any sweet 16x7 or 16x7.5 wheels?

Are these steel wheels lighter and the same size as my stock trd off roads? I'd love a set to have powder coated... just saying

i think the steel wheel is heavier than the stock trd off roads. i tried to buy a set of steel spare wheels from local dealer a few years ago, but they said no, not rated for standard wheel use...emergency spare only, seemed BS, but would not sell. the steel with round holes is my favorite, but im running the trd alloy, i think they arr some of toyotas worst wheel design, but theyr actually pretty solid, and they take my abuse.
edit, refering to Gen 2 OR alloy rims

the width of rim you need for the 235 is not what wheel manufacturers think about.

So I've read through this thread, and I think I know the answer, but looking for confirmation:

16x8 is too wide a wheel for 235/85/16, correct? I hate that, if so, but definitely don't want to buy tires I can't really use.

    Just the basics
Exactly why I sold my aftermarket rims and went with better engineered Toyota wheels.

I’m running all 4 corners at 40 PSI and so far no complaints. Tires are for sure louder road noise wise than the Wildpeaks they replaced in 265/70R16. No real noticeable loss of power but handling is for sure impacted at higher speeds.
Hoping they’ll perform well as a winter set.

    Correct, stock 3rd gen rims.
An ARB bumper was my #1 priority when I got this truck. Only took half a decade to manifest!
The toyos have been good at high speeds and in the rain so far. Very little wandering than the 265/70s I was running earlier. Happy with this setup thus far in regards to fuel economy as well. I’m averaging 16-18 mpg/tank which is what I was getting prior to the tire change.
I really can’t wait to get them out in the ice and snow!

I’m running 5100’s with 885 springs. Airbags in the rear for my slide in camper/towing.
Drives great with the added weight up front.

Thank you! Considering something similar myself, minus the rear bags. Did you do anything else to rear or just the air bags? Running the 5100’s on the lowest circlip with those 885 coils? Your liking the 885’s still? I was also considering leaving stock coils in w/ the 5100’s.

Either way on coils, 885 or stock, I think the rear will likely need something to prevent a squat, like an AAL or a 1” spacer. Any input there?

    Thanks again!

    Rear is just airbags.
5100 w/ 885 is “recommended” to be on the lowest clip. I don’t know if you’d be able to run it on a higher setting. But yes, lowest clip.
