    enough to have fun
As the proud owner of the prototype 2nd gen front bumper and high clearance (from @blackout14 ) and an OG set of bully boxed sliders I picked up from the Maryland shop I’m going to cherish these functional pieces of art forever!

Sliders from when I picked them up back in 2016

From when I swapped with @blackout14

    OG full plate with hoops

Then you guys cut the hoops off for me and I brought some candy

Hoops off photo from one of the past trips to Rausch.

Shitty situation for sure. I’d probably just hit it with some spray paint and call it a day.

That's what I used on my sliders and a few other accessories. Looks good and does its job. And the best part is it's easy to touch up.

I just found a powdercoat company that seems to have a decent price. They say they sand blast, zinc plate, then powder coat. Hopefully they aren’t lying. There is no way for me to check if they sandblast.
I think for larger items they can’t fit they outsource to larger facilities
I did something like that before. Found a sandblast company that does a ton of big ass parts. Was like $50 to have a backpack frame stripped to paint and make a hiking pack. (Painted it)

I had some work done and so far it looks good. I’ll see how it holds up.

before that I made a mistake being cheap trying to find a deal. Saw an ad local Facebook marketplace. Cheap. Guy said he has a booth in his backyard shed, is retired, and does it sometimes in free time for side hustle.
Said sand blasting wasn’t needed. I didn’t know and went with it.
He probably didn’t want to spend the $20 at harbor freight for a blaster or whatever. The same one I already have.

said he’d hit it real quick with a grinder. Which he maybe didn’t even do.
Well guess what. The finish was shit, not full coverage, lightly sprayed with bare metal visible in some areas, and thin. It completely scratched up within a month.
So yeah you’re right it’s totally possible to fuck up powder coat
Money wasted, time wasted, and will still have to redo it a second time

That is great good for you and your family!! I wish the best for all of you. I know Mobtown was a huge headache for you but a good learning experience.
Is there any chance I can get the two transfer case mounts you promised me? Joe. You told me you had a bad welder and now both of my transfer case mounts are cracked at the weld and are rusting. Can you still follow through with your promise to send me two good mounts? This was about a month ago. If need be I can PM my address or....???? Can you help me at this point please?

LMAO. Your welds cracked and want him to send you some transfer case mounts? Dude you are the reason why these guys say fuck it and move on.

Go spend the $30 to have a local welder/fabricator re-weld them. If you were in CO I’d to it for you just for fun.

FWIW my mobtown t case skid and t case crossmember are cracked in a few welds too and I haven’t bothered to fix it, and I can weld myself. I beat the piss out of my truck and it’s never caused issues.

Dang, I just randomly stumbled across this thread. It's a bummer to hear Mobtown go. I have one piece of real amour and I chose the Mobtown bolt-on sliders for their quality and ease of install. Shipping costs sucked to Hawaii, but I really wanted it and AFAIK, I'm the only one running their sliders here (on BI) in the sea of OR Tacomas.

I hope Joe the best and I hope people get their refunds and everything is made right.

Haven’t heard a thing! This is just another one of Joe’s schemes to try and not get sued I guess or keep postponing it until we give up. Can’t claim anything with credit cards because for most of us it’s been to long. Guess small claims court is the way to go. I’m going to start looking in that direction.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I’m surprised any of you guys are surprised you’re not getting responses and or refunds. Responding was never his forte when he was in business and a potential sale was on the line. If you think he’s got any incentive to do it now you’re wishful thinking. You all should have called your credit card companies right away. I don’t think it’s too late to call now. I didn’t think there was a sunset window on charge backs but I could be wrong on that.

Not intentionally not refunding people. I’ve been trying to get in touch with our accountant which I found out quit the firm so now I’m trying to coordinate this with her boss who is playing catch up. Give me until Monday night. Everyone will be refunded by then. I will make sure we get it sorted Monday.

Joe, if you were not intentionally doing it you should have spoken up before now with a status to all the people who paid you with their hard earned money that you took for a fabricated item. Listen man, it sucks I get it. But you owe it to everyone to hold up your end of the bargain. Guess we will see if Monday’s promise comes true…once again.
