Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

Toyota came out with a 2022 video. No grab handle on the driver’s side.

 

Whoever buys that particular truck shown in @jayavilak5 ’s photo is getting a driver grab handle already installed from the factory. Or is she, who shall not be named, doing port add ons now?

 

Interesting. Considering the video showing the 2022 without a driver’s side grab handle was from Toyota. I wonder if they are making it an option now.

The Toyota video I saw was for a Tacoma not a Tundra.

can’t get an answer back if there will even be a restock so if anyone has some that they didn’t Install and want to sell (hit me up) or didn’t install and can at least take clearer pics/part numbers so I can try and source some of it?

Previous model year Tundras had no handle. She, who must not be named, offered a Tundra grab handle. Looks like the ‘22 Tundra has the handle back.

update: it was https://www.sparksparts.com/p-tundra-grab-handle-kit-pktungrab that had the Tundra GH parts, not what’s ‘er name. I guess she figured she could just port that solution over to Tacoma without a whole lot of testing.

 

Anyone have a grey driver's side handle they want to sell? Long story short I bought a truck that had one, dealership removed and replaced with new handleless pillar and gave truck back to me after warranty service. They owe me one , ordered one from ktjo and now I have been reading this and other threads for 2 weeks wondering where I went wrong in my life.


2016 bought used recently. In for 3rd break light leak under warranty. headliner pulled and somehow a new handle is needed. They owe it to me and know that they do. Just want a handle there again...

 

Your post requires additional details and explanation. You brought your truck to the dealer for service and they stole parts off of your truck????

They stole from you. Period. Any parts taken off of my truck, I'm keeping. I'm shocked you didn't insist on getting them back. Why did you authorize that work?

Okay, back on topic. KTJO is a non-starter. If you sent that lady money, start disputing it now with your CC company to get your money back and look elsewhere. Wait... that site only sells for 3rd gen's, because they didn't come from the factory with it installed. That means you have a 2nd gen, correct? You really need to elaborate more. Something isn't adding up.

 

I think I get it that they returned your A pillar to stock as a (Toyota) prerequisite for completing warranty work but they could have asked you to do it prior to commencing the work or kept the grab handle parts for you. I know some dealers get a little fussy about doing certain warranty work or campaigns when the truck is modded.

On second thought they probably lost the speed nut during disassembly and f#%^ing around trying to get the handle re-installed would not be covered under the water leak campaign. The A pillar is a simple bolt on, the handle is not.

 

I'd say your truck got an upgrade going back to the OEM a-pillar cover. Still not how the dealership should have "handled" it (I've got the funnies today folks), but I'd say you came out on top on this deal. Get them to buy you a new one from KTJO and in 9 months when you finally get it, sell it and make some money off the dealers fuqup

 

Looking forward to the rest of this story. Hopefully, it is tantalizing as I am imagining it.

O they definitely wiffed big time on how they handled this. Years ago I would have had multiple meltdowns in their service center by now but I am somehow gaining wisdom with age and waiting to meltdown when it is going to be most advantageous to me.

Heard a lot of BS about why my truck came back to me missing one handle. I bought it thinking it was there from factory. Lots of trucks have them.

 

So did you order a new handle from ktjo or did the dealership?

 

Ah yes, important detail I forgot to share. They know they messed up big. They offered to buy the handle and placed the order about 2 weeks ago or more. This may be what is keeping me more or less sane.
