That's the reason I wired mine to the headlights. I want to be able to keep them off while camping.

I'm certainly not a wiring expert but this is what I did. I ran the red and white wires from each mirror into the door and then through the door boots into the cabin. I ran the passenger light wires behind the dash and I had just enough wire to get near the fuse box. Then I cut off the excess wire from the driver's light. I connected the driver and passenger red and white wires together near the fuse box. Then I took the excess wire from the driver's light and ran it from Meso's DRL harness at the headlight and through the firewall. Lastly, I connected the wire coming through the firewall to the combined driver and passenger wires. I also soldered all of my connections but that might have been overkill. Hope this helps!

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
Thanks! That sounds like what I'm gonna do then, wait for the LED headlight harness to be made and just prep the wires for an easier connection down the line.

Does that get you DRL bright & dim that way with the extra DRL harness?

This is exactly what I'm going to do, most likely with the little self solder connectors and a heat gun. Where did you route the wires behind the dash from the passenger side? Probably going to tackle this install tomorrow or next weekend. My initial thought was under the dash at the top of the foot wells tucked under the carpet and going behind the center console. This is how I have my heated seats wired up right now.

That's exactly how I did it. I tucked the wires under the passenger carpet, then behind the center of the dash, then I zip tied it along the dash under the steering wheel area.

Got mine done a little while ago. 20 minute install, maybe a little more taking pics and checking connections

some noticeable differences in person. Phone might show a little different, lighting, distance, exposure, angle blah blah

Looks like the LE Has better white, but V5 has better yellow. The V5 also has improved dispersion lense/cups it seems. I can’t recall my number, but now I know who 19 was…

For sure, however the LE had A LOT more LED’s in it. I want to say somewhere in the area of 100. Just a strip array of diodes. Also might be the angle. The optics of the V5’s seems to hit right on that eye level where the LEs just blasted light in all directions lol

The color temp is also different LEs seem more of a 5000k-5500k. While the V5’s seem more of a 6k temp which I like from having the headlights and fogs at around that same color temp, But I don’t know the color temps for sure, just going off visual comparison

Is anyone planning on wiring DRL to a stand alone switch? or is everyone going the headlight harness route? I have the puddle pods and I’m thinking of wiring to that switch, I would like the Ability to turn them off and on separate from the headlight DRL. Anyone have any idea how that wiring would be? Mine haven’t arrived yet but I do believe the 2 pin connectors should be included for the puddle pods, however I’m not really too sure about the wiring

    thanks

I think using that switch, if I read that right* would mean they would only work like your puddles do? Meaning you would have your puddle lights on going down the road?

I don’t think that’s what you want / meant but using that switch as the function wouldn’t be ideal to have the both function off one switch when they have different driving / non driving functions

Was even thinking a switch by itself I have one spot left, left of the steering wheel, just not sure about the wiring but I could be overthinking it

Man all those cool pics and not one of the wiring setup you had with the window lock- that’s unfortunate.

Did you just snip your LE's red/white wires and tapped the V5's into them?

Was thinking of going this route, so that I do not have to pull the whole mirror out to rerun wires again.

So who is the lucky owner of 19/25?

Are you running the puddle pods v2? I installed mine and it was simple, mostly plug and play. Red wire was high and it plugged to one of the two wires from the pigtail. I tested both black wires before I soldered them together. Ran the red and black wire pigtail from the top to bottom following the mirror yellow wire, soldered them with solder seals and a heat gun. I will be re-doing it once there's a PnP harness for the LED headlights to gain dimming and DRL functionality with the stalk.
