Right on ! I was hoping you'd say you wouldn't go for it. A guy comes in and pin stripes all the trucks for $30 each. Door edge guard u can buy for $15. It's like they assume everyone is stupid. I'd rather have a dealer just say we are charging $400 over list and be honest !

When he said he can order a 22 did that mean they'll take a deposit for when they're available or would you get something on paper that says you've really ordered a 22 from the factory? Do you know what I mean ? I didn't think 22's were available to order

They are avail to “order”, they basically pluck one that is being built that matches your request.

Toyota.com also has the 22 up. There’s another string on that if you haven’t seen it yet.

Feel like I did alright. After searching for over a month to find an available allocation, I was able to secure a 2021 TRD Offroad manual trans 7545 in MGM up north. This is after calling all over the country. Crazy times we live in, but was happy to pay MSRP + $400 dealer fee. Shipping will probably cost 600-800 above that. It is what it is, just lucky to have found a manual trans without some crazy Florida markup. Down here in FL, dealers don't even call you back. Will never buy another truck locally again.

I honestly feel very lucky for finding exactly what I wanted at a dealer one hour away. No dealer add ons. Nothing from the factory I didn’t want to pay for and no mark up, paid MSRP. And I got one of the two colors I wanted, white!

When I was shopping for my Tacoma in March of this year Portland Toyota had the least amount of stock and the highest prices in the area. Wilsonville Toyota was the easiest to deal with

I double checked and the 2022 isn't available in Canada yet. We also don't have choice of different packages. For instance a sport is a sport which has a few things then there’s a sport premium that has everything. No tech packages etc. It's all or nothing lol
    Thanks for the information!

It’s not available on the website, but they are available. Go into your dealer and ask about them. I got a 2022 TRD sport allocated to me, and they started building it a few weeks ago.

My '21 was built in Baja a few weeks ago. So, Toyota is producing 21's and 22's simultaneously in different plants!?

From what I’ve been told, there is no difference between the 2021 and 2022(for sport trim) so I really wouldn’t doubt it. I think we are both getting the same truck, except for the fact that I got my sport in lunar rock, and that the MSRP has gone up:facepalm:

I would call 3 grand for a wheel/tire upgrade and predator steps pretty steep markup...

Yea however people want to interpret it. I have spoken with many corporate folks on this and it is not ordering. Your snagging a toyota that was already scheduled to be built. So if you wanted a different color there would be one close to being built at the same time that was the color you wanted and they would snag that.

I just feel really bad when folks get on here and and say they “ordered” a truck and then people read it and think they can do that so they go to a dealership and get their hopes up. You can’t get any build until that dealer gets an allocation accepted. They put it as close to spec as possible and that’s what they get. That is in these times with the demand so high and the supply so small.

Now a few years ago there was more wiggle room with supply. You could dealer trade and request quite a bit and it wouldn’t take as long to get that build. Now with every dealer struggling to keep inventory on the lot, you don’t really get a choice. They can request an allocation and hope it gets approved but if you think your are going to walk into a dealer and “order” something than you are wrong. The dealer will continue to see if they can get the allocation approved twice and month and if not it’s a waiting game until that configuration is being built and they get dibs on it.

That's a package that's offered to those of us in the South East, I requested it. It's the Pro wheels, tires, predator steps, black badging, tacoma inserts, black exhaust tip, and I think LED headlights. There is no dealer mark up. Given that the wheels are around $220 a wheel, the tires are around $200 a tire, steps are right at $600, plus the other stuff it's really not a mark up.

The stock wheels and tires sell for 700 a set all day if they are new, so you paid closer to 3700. The exhaust tip is $100, the blackouts, tailgate inserts, etc are ~$100 on Amazon. There's nothing about headlights on the xp predator website, or the sheet you posted.

I think most people think of markup on the vehicle not dealer installed accessories which are through the service depth, not sales.
