I’m curious about disabling ABS offroad. Does the kill switch method work with an 09 with the brake booster?

This is why I like having an 05 a lot less of this nonsense to deal with.

Dude, on road it seriously turns into a danger with any tire larger than stock. The pump is not designed to work with big tires. I’m convinced it was the yaw sensor causing my activations on dry ground.

Yeah for the “digital” front locker, downhill assist and other shit I don’t need. Easy to bleed the brakes though haha

Oh, if that’s the case that sucks. I wonder if it can be converted to a normal master though?

I've yet to have any issues on or offroad. But I also grew up driving non abs vehicles and learned to pulse the brakes far before an ABS would kick on. Also mine is old enough unless it sees a locked up brake it's not activating. Your newer trucks with all the extra VSC and stuff like that have more to contend with.

Yeah my 06 is the same, the abs only kicks on in slick snow or mud, when it works, which is half the time

You'd have to disect that whole deal and revert to a more basic braking system like mine pretty sure you can still use the booster just have to get the non OR MC and then probably make quite a few new brake lines then add a proportioning valve to the rear.

I’m as anti ABS as they come lol. Where I live, abs causes far more accidents than it prevents. But you also can’t be an idiot without it. I’ve hated abs since I started driving.

I literally have to be standing on the brakes as hard as I can in a skid for it to do so. So when people complain about theirs activating and doing the switch mod I don't have the same experience so I haven't a clue what that's like.

    FIFY.

They put too many idiot controls on autonomy and taken away driver skill. Those systems still don't fix shit driving.

I think the majority of my issue came from the fact that my rebound is super light in the rear (because it works). And I was getting rear rise which was triggering the yaw sensor. I have no other explanation for it, but it was very, very real. And it wasn’t a wheel speed sensor acting up because I data logged everything trying to figure it out.

Ew. I don’t need it that bad. I need it $5 switch and twenty minutes of my life bad
I tend to fight any automation. I grew up riding dirt bikes, BMX, mountain bikes etc. my body/mind understands the physics going on and coming up. Nothing worse than a machine that starts taking the lead doing what it thinks is best. Like losing a boner.

Making it go away fixed the problem and gave me plenty of room for the UMP. It was a good trade off.
