Mine was just done earlier this year

Maybe they didn't look for it..or perhaps it wasn't an issue then.

Nah he's still less than 12 years, not happening.

Technically the dealer cannot give the yay or nay. I brought mine in with 2 holes, one was at least 10mm and the other 1x2 inches. The rep said that they don't have the authority to approve it, but he said that he couldn't see it not being..later on post approval he said off the record that once he saw the 1x2 on the outside he knew I'd get a new one.

Charlie, deifnitely do new shocks/struts/coils. They automatically do new LCA, brake lines, and leafs..plus change some fluids such as radiator and rear diff.

Mine literally has more than double the miles you have! Is yours manual or automatic? And has yours been deemed safe to drive while the dealer waits on the frame as well?

Is yours still useable? I know mine wasn't but you saw the size of mine

Just had mine replaced and was surprised it ever got approved. Dealer told my to come talk to the technician once it was torn apart to see what parts I needed to replace. Unfortunately, they didn’t have parts in stock and the tech had the complete job done in 2.5 days. Make sure to get your replacement parts before they start the work.

Yes, thankfully still on the road. It's an auto 4x4. I got it a few thousand miles ago. Base model so I added new head unit, intermittent wipers, fogs. Did plugs, pcv, painted wheels and skids, replace ujoints that were toast. It's been fun! Just need the swap and she'll be ready for anything!

2010 Toyota Tacoma access cab bought used in 2017. Had the frame inspected a few months after I bought it and dealer treated it. Brought it in 3 weeks ago for inspection because I knew time was running out and was told that I needed a frame but had to get approval. Got the approval from Toyota 2 days ago. Yes! Now just waiting for the parts to come in. Want to change my shocks. I have bilsteins but it is a very harsh ride. Any suggestions?

Mines a 2010 and had the frame replaced two years ago already. Mine had the hole in the same spot by the cat. Burlington Toyota in jersey did a awesome job didn’t cost me a thing except for the gas in the rental and they had it done in two days

Did your truck get "quarantined"? I'm being told I can drive my truck even after the replacement is approved because it is safe, and I'm also thinking this might be due to the shortage of rental cars caused by COVID...

Mine did though my damage was much worse than your picture, plus that's just what I could see without getting under it.

That's literally all they found on mine that I'm aware of; Did you have to leave yours with the dealer even before Toyota approved it?

Yup, I called on Tuesday telling them I found the holes. They said to bring it Thursday and they'd get me a rental then.

I had described it as 2 holes, underside of passenger rail is 10mm or a bit more..the outside of that rail is 1x2 inches. I'm sure hearing that they knew it was at least going to be taken in the interim..

    This is the 1x2

Congratulation Charlie for getting it approved just under the deadline. With these crazy Tacoma prices because of Covid, I wouldn't want to be a buyer now nor spend the $13,000+ replacing a frame, so that was great to hear you are approved!
