Is that an arisaka offset mount? If so, do the heads of the 2 screws that hold the light to the mount make contact and leave marks on your rail when the mount is tightened down?

Is that a rifle with a pistol brace? Or a pistol with a foregrip?

Neither. Just curious. What's the issue? Sometimes people know things I don't.

Braces can be used with any barrel length upper and angled fore grips are ok on pistol’s, vertical fore grips are a no no.

    It’s an “other”.
It’s not a rifle per definition as it doesn’t have a stock.
It’s not a pistol per definition as it has a 16” barrel.

it’s built on a pre 2013 lower so it was purchased before California started tracking long guns.

If you know what the Franklin Armory Title 1 is then it’s basically that.

though starting next month apparently I need to register it as an “assault weapon” in California.

Okay thanks, I have 2 arisaka mounts that are the offset ones that bend towards the rail at the top instead of flat like yours. It creates a super tight fit but I discovered it also is too tight to where the screw heads holding the light to the mount are now marring the rail where they touch. I think I'm going to switch over to your style now seeing your pics. Thanks.

Yea right at that 10-11 o'clock position is where my mount bends and the screw heads are pressed against my rail at that point for a tighter profile but yours seems tight enough for what I need. Plus if I ever want to run a set up like yours i'll need that space like you have set up.
