Don't even have to go back that far. I bought my truck in mid May of this year out of dealer stock and paid about $2,500 below MSRP. Not a smoking deal but better than what's going on only 4 months later.

I agree, its nuts now what dealers are charging and it won't get any better after the last hurricane that flooded many vehicles with water damage.
At the time i bought my truck i could of got that smoking deal to buy off the lot instead of ordering. All the dealers i visited had 20 to 75 tacoma's sitting in their lot all waiting for someone to take one home.

This is a 2016 Limited with 9,000 miles and it was $38,000…a new TRD OFF road was $41,000 MSRP WITH an $8,000 mark up, so just u see $50,000….

I thought it was very fairly priced.

may bed question were for just covering the ridges in the bed so it doesn’t hurt my ass, at lunch I like to sit in my bed, and loom at the beach, nothing hardcore! Just want it to where it doesn’t hurt my ass!

If this is your goal then a simple bed mat is all you need, no need for the plywood. Either Toyota or other. Mine is 3/4 inch thick rubber. You can not feel the bed ribs through it. I am not sure how thick the Toyota mat is. Maybe someone that has one can chime in.

Another option is to get what is commonly known as a stall mat. Any local ag or farm store will have them. Might require a tiny bit of trimming to get around spots but they are super durable and cheap. Usually ~$40.

OP, you can also learn some CAD (cardboard aided design). You would then be able to use the cardboard as a template on top of the plywood but I think buying the bed mat would be a better option, if it is going to be exposed to the elements?

I went to a bunch of random dealer websites to find a bed mat and eventually ordered one from a dealer in Kentucky for around $70-$80 including the free shipping. Then for some reason they canceled my order. It's not one of the top accessories on my list, so I haven't tried to order from somewhere else yet, but I'm sure another dealership will take my money when I'm ready.

I've been looking to buy the OEM mat as well, but can't seem to find anyone with free shipping. They keep wanting to charge $50+ to ship, so if ya have a lead on the free shipping, please share!

A quick search of a few dealerships that I've used and it looks like the free shipping deals are over. Maybe order from a dealership within a short drive or wait for the free shipping deals to return.

Same issue a buddy had when looking for an oem bed mat shipped to connecticut. Found several for $80 or less but 40-$50 to ship it. Went to all the area dealers...all wanted at least $120. Finally ordered a gator...they have free shipping. I saw it...fit very well....looks fine, and stinks just like oem.

I don't see why it's so hard to find free shipping for an OEM bed mat. If you go to the official Toyota parts & accessories website there's a banner that says free shipping on orders over $75 using code Freeship. Just punch in your zip code and see who's got one the cheapest $75 or more and order it. The shipping is free. I mean if you really want to find a bed mat for $70 and spend $50 shipping it, go for it if it makes you feel like you got a good deal on the bed mat o_O

That wasn't showing for me a few days ago, I swear. But I was able to get freeshipping using that code from Tustin Toyota yesterday. Should be on the way.

It has never occurred to me sit in my bed, but I do sit on my tailgate frequently and the ribs do not bother my butt. If your butt is bothered, I think a bed mat or recliner chair would be a better solution than some plywood.

OP, let us know how you resolved this.
