I didn't get to keep it, but I saw a quick itemization of what the dealer sends Toyota corporate and it was 17K. Remember that includes the rental car for 3 months. I've heard 12-13K for the job from several people so I trust that one as a good ballpark.

Both Charlie and I have the RC, I wonder if yours being the DC is different though the variance sounds like a lot

I always deck out my truck for Christmas, and I figured I'd try the same for Halloween this year; If I put this "Zombie Outbreak Response Team" decal kit on my truck, would it be easy to remove after Halloween?

This section of my MegaThread details the transformation of a 12-year old Tacoma with almost 140K miles into the convincing post-apocalyptic zombie outbreak response vehicle!

For thirty bucks, I don't really think you can put a price on the smiles it will put on the faces of people who take pictures and post to their various social media accounts; That's what happened with the Christmas lights last December!

Amazing what you can do with a posable plastic skeleton from Lowe's and some zip ties!

On another note, if my new frame doesn't arrive before the weekend after Thanksgiving (which is when I decorate the truck for Christmas), the the service manager sees absolutely no problem with the lights staying on the cab and bed while the frame is being replaced!

Home Depot sells life-size and giant ones with led eyes. Halloween is my favorite!

Just got the black set; Was strongly considering green, but I didn't think that would look as good on a silver truck...

You may be right 10k or 13k, either way, that's money I would rather have in my pocket than the dealerships.

Enjoy your higher resale value and the peace of mind that a new frame gives!

Toyota was buying back the Gen. ones with bad frames and giving a discount on a new Tacoma purchase. A friend of mine heard about the buy back just after he condemned his and brought it to the dump. Frame was bad but truck was brought there for other reasons. Brought truck to dealer on flat bed and they gave him a check based on fair market value. Can't believe they still have problems with the Gen. twos. Surely they can find a coating or hot dip it to prevent frames rotting out.

A 5" disc of 80 gr AlO2 on a random orbit sander will take the toughest decals off.

The magnetic sheet is a good idea. Neat, clean, reusable.
