Here's one upside to Verizon getting the iPhone: AT&T now has to, you know, compete with another carrier for your love. The first step? Changing up the text messaging plans for the better.
There are two new text messaging plans that replace the old ones: 1000 texts per month for $10, or unlimited texts for $20. This is compared to the old 1,500 texts for $15 or 200 texts for $5 level. It's good news for people who fit in between these figures, which would be most people, as it'll save you $5 a month on your bill.
Like your current plan? You can keep it if you want; existing text plans will be grandfathered in when the switch happens.

Or wait it was $10 for the data plan (limited 3g usage). $30 for unlimited 3g. And like $5 for unlimited messaging. This was back in August when I got my phone.

EDIT: these are the prices added on to your plan. And I have the family plan.

how many people actually do that though? I would find it really annoying (and would hang up on them) if i heard someone tap on their phone while having me on speakerphone...

I agree...that's the most useless feature to tout...especially considering every mobile OS except for WebOS isn't really suited for multitasking. Where are we in this world where we're too busy to talk to the people we called on the phone?

RIP to my 08 Prerunner DC
In San Antonio/Hill Country my phone has never worked well. But in Houston and College Station it has worked flawlessly.

You cannot hear the tapping. lol And it is very useful. I have looked up directions and phone numbers for people while on the phone with them. Then I just tell them or text it to them. idk Why everyone hates Att so much. My calls rarely drop. I always have signal. I think its $2o a month for a family unlimited text and mms. Plus I have been able to use my wonderful iPhone for years. Now all the att haters are barely going to be able to get one while I have enjoyed it for a long time.
