How did you know which black wire to connect the red wire to?

I'm realizing now that I might've needed to get the harness, afterall, because in the back of my mind, having the puddle pods is just a pass-through so I don't have to re-open the door, and not actually a powered circuit for DRLs in and of itself, right?

    Far to much money spent.
I ran the new wires opened it all back up even with puddle pods. I wanted it all to work like stock. I have raptor lights already with a PNP harness so I just undid that harness and added the V5 DRL wires to that. Works perfectly. About 2 hours altogether.

I tested them to see which of the two was suppling power, one of the two is a dead wire. The way I tested them is connecting the pigtail to the puddle pod V2 connection and stripping a a bit of heatshrink on both black wires. I then tested with the red wire to see which of the two lit up the DRL on the turn signal.

Well the good news is that mine have shipped and are scheduled to be here on Monday. The other news, which I don't consider as bad, is that the shipping notification email I received says that they shipped amber. I originally ordered amber on accident, submitted a ticket to change to white. I also added the 2 pin connectors and the wiring harness as part of the same ticket. I got an email regarding the ticket saying that I would get the white shipped but the more I think about it the more I think I would like amber.

Either way whichever ones I get I will keep and install by the end of the week. Can't wait.

Ok i know this isn't the best place post this but I'm running out of options...

Just installed these yesterday and they worked fine for half a day. Then I left work last night and now my puddle lights won't turn off unless I literally disconnect the battery. Also, the puddle lights switch now controls my overhead lights (????). Anyone with electrical knowledge know what to do? As of now my truck is out of service because the puddle pods are going to drain my battery so I have to unplug it

What's this harness everyone keeps mentioning? Do you need it if you haven't got PuddlePods?

If your truck came stock with LED, then ping @daveeasa for his OEM LED harness. Otherwise, wait until @MESO makes a harness. You can settle for connecting the DRL to Bright only by connecting it to your window or mirror adjustment switch. See here

Just a thought, you can always remove the V5s and go back to the last known working configuration prior to the V5 install to see if the problem still persists. :notsure:

I disconnected the DRL from the v5 and the problem persists.

This sounds tricky, like you might have a wire crossed up at your switch. Hopefully, it isn't this problem. Do your overhead lights function normally? I troubleshooted my buddies overhead console just yesterday by installing his console in my truck. We determined it performed as designed. GL!

    Luv the guessing...
I'll take a shot at the chicken bones too, he tapped into the puddle circuit which is PWM controlled ground and he fried that circuit in the Main Body ECU. The V5 has a shared ground to both rows of LED

    Nothing major
Seems like there is potentially a manufacturing problem, with a few people having the same dead led issue. Hopefully you guys get replacements easily and mine show up healthy…
