Thanks. I’ve been reading that thread and there’s lots of information there. I’m going to do the brass jet mod “while blower is not installed” and will probably go with 430 gears like you have and upgrade the suspension.
    Mods add up quickly!!

They do. I highly encourage you to really do some research before you do your mods. I’m sure you will. It’s something I always tell people starting off. The brass jet mod was more of a hype at that specific time. A bunch if not all the guys did it and only to return it back. I did it too, felt absolutely no difference and figured that it’s in there for a engineered reason. I put it back in and never thought of it again. Part of it is me too. I’m just very particular in what I set out to do. I wanted a modded but safe and reliable truck.

Interesting. Guess I need to catch up then. I already removed the jet and clamped the hose down on both ends. If it doesn’t make a difference, then I’ll put it back in and re-clamp the hose ends. Thanks for the heads up. How are you liking the gear swap?

Yeah no problem. I’d just hate for you to do it now only to put it back in once the s/c is on. It can be done it is just a pain to stick your hand back there with virtually no room and doing it by feel.
Love the gear swap. If I didn’t drive on the highway as much as I do ( not that much, but enough) I woulda gone with 4.56. That would be sweet and torquey but too high rpm’s for my liking on the freeway. 4.30 is a nice sweet spot. It is basically putting the truck back into a stock setup feel of 3.73 and 31’s. So now i have 4.30 and 33’s. Do you plan on swapping the pulley?

Yeah, probably don’t want to over gear if you’re highway driving. I wouldn’t want to see higher rpms if it’s not necessary, especially if the truck is doesn’t see much off road.
Yeah, I have the 2.85 URD quick connect pulley, Walbro 255 pump and new ecu from Justin. I can always go smaller if needed.

I went to a 2.7 with the pulley mod but I’m going back to a 2.8. I’m not into cutting ribs off belts. That is what you have to do when you go down below 2.8 IF you don’t have a pulley mod. I wanna get rid of it because the pulley looks rusty and if it goes bad I’m kinda screwed. From what I gather now anyway, there isn’t much difference from a 2.7 to 2.8 anyway……

Didn’t realize that, thanks. Seems like a lot of trouble, not to mention cutting down the snout just to run smaller than a 2.8.
Should be plenty for my needs

I’m running a 2.7 with a stock size belt and the @Roostfactor wrap mod. It’s a solid setup.

That’s what I got too. It does work great as well. I’m just heading off a possible future issue by just removing it. I have a quick change pulley setup so it’ll be an easy swap.

How do you like the Fox Pro suspension vs the Bilstien Pro suspension? Does the Wescott give it enough to clear 33 on the Gen 2.

The stock Baja Bilstien setup cleared 285’s before I added 1/4” top plates. I’m very positive the Fox pro setup would’ve cleared too without the wescott kit. The both feel great. I just wanted to ditch the Baja setup due to the rear bypass shocks. The braided line was bare and was a known weak spot to eventually leak. The Fox pros are integrated bypasses so there aren’t any lines.

Yeah, I may go that route for the money. My Bilstiens only have 47k and already have one leaking on the front. Plus, not a fan of the ride before or after Wescott lift. My 18 Pro seemed to ride better and it had the Wescott lift as well.

You may have to hunt around a little for the pro foxes but they are out there.

@oliver1539 I’ve experimented with a few set of shocks, and I can say that I really enjoyed the ride of the Pro Fox’s(as is) and the Baja Bilstein’s. That’s just for my usage though

I agree on the Pro Fox setup. The 18 Pro I had rode nicely before and after lift. I had some 5100s/888 coils on a 2016 that did really well as well. My Pro Bilsteins just seem stiff and don’t absorb the bumps as well.
