Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

Busy day yesterday - crewed a hot air balloon flight in the morning, put a coat of paint on the new clapboards on the stable and then crewed another flight last evening. We have two more flights scheduled for today but the winds will probably cause us to cancel. I'll put a second coat of paint on the stable, though.

2k RPM. We've never used it at that. In fact I think I'm the first person to take it out of low speed since we got it.

Is anyone in the eastern part of the state with a 3rd Gen doing the MESO V5 Switchback signals? I'm lost on doing the wiring for the DRL function. I'll probably wait for the PNP harness from MESO...but...

Fun fact:

A lifted 3rd gen on 33s is the perfect height to park under a refer trailer to work on it from the bed.

Impromptu overnighter at the cabin. I was up there reclaiming some space, cutting, splitting, stacking (re-stacking) and the lovely Mrs. came up in her 4Runner with dinner and breakfast!

 

After sitting in the garage for almost 3 years and 2 weeks on and off catching up on the service the old 66 wagon finally went on a road trip today.

I went for an ice cream, only took me 110 miles. Life was good today!
53,000 original miles.

 

Awesome. Love old wagons. My first was a '69 Marquis

 

Those cars were massive! They came with only one engine if I remember correctly -- the 429!
Loved the hide away headlights, p-i-a when it snowed though.

This old girl is a base model Ranch Wagon with a 289 V8.

 

Yup. 429. Power everything. Love the dual action tailgates too. Ran a set of Vredestein snows in the Winter. Still handled like crap!

 

This one stays in the garage all winter -- most of the time really, I did get caught in the rain once. It is pretty much an ice cream run car.

The first owner drove it 18,000 miles in 2 years, a lot of driving for 1966. They sold it to their next door neighbor, I bought it from the son. The family had only driven it 28,000 miles in the next 48 years. The son had a commercial garage, he told me "I have been taking care of this car for more than 25 years, my wife and kids use it in a parade twice a year".

The first summer I went over 3000 miles "for ice cream".

 

Back home and back to reality tomorrow morning.
It was a really fun weekend though!
