It is a tough devil to deal with.. the hardest part ( at least for me ) is getting moving once the full weight of the "lows" set it, but once you get moving ( emotionally and physically) things start to get a wee bit better every day. I get triggered with the SAD every year and it gets a bit harder each winter. I need to force myself to stay active to get through the winter, just to keep the brain moving forward.

Just remember that you're not alone, feel free to reach out for any support. ( I know that asking for any help is THE hardest thing to learn to do)

Kind of difficult to angle the camera to get any contrast, it either focused on the screen of the tent flap or it focused on the bright sunlight and washed out most of the beautiful colors.. All I could hear in my head was AvE yelling "focus you phuck !!!"

You know you're in WV when ...

You have me beat. In my yard this morning was one lonely deer and a flock of turkeys, maybe 8 or so.

There was a small herd (6-8) in the conservation land close by. Would see a few of them from time to time. I learned not long ago that a licensed bow hunter has been lawfully harvesting them. This explains why I haven’t seen one in about three years. I enjoy/ enjoyed seeing them . A bit of a bummer

Back in the day I would agree with you. I don’t hunt anymore, just lost interest in it :notsure:

I live on the border of a private hunting preserve, the owner is also my former boss from the sheriff's office so I get use of it if I want . The homeowners on the road have an agreement that all the “house deer” are off limits, they are for the kids to watch. If they are over on the hunting property they are fair game. Most know where to hang out. Lol. It’s unusual to see the bucks over here, they normally stay in the swamp and creek bottom.

Congrats on the primers score! Been a long time since been to a gun show they aren't what they used to be any where in the Country. Down to 9K W209 primers but scored another sleeve of 5K last week so up to 14K now. Should get me through the winter here for loading.

They started cutting the fields around here and the war has begun once again. Good luck!

Yeah this time of year they have other things on their on their mind. And can be aggressive sometimes wondering to charge or run.

Be careful what you ask for... Before bedding they will do a J hook and lay so they can watch their back trail to see if they were followed. And have no problems with pooping in the bed.

 Mike. Yeah I should as well. Leave Sunday for 3 weeks on the North Shore of Superior so racing to make preps for that. When I get home the race will be on to see if I can get ready for Winter or Winter will beat me to it. Guessing I'm not going to be staining my deck this year LOL.

    Hey MIKE.
    Nice to see ya.
I’ve been so busy I’ve forgot my hunting season started two weeks ago.
Going out this afternoon and throwing some arrows.

time to brush the cobwebs off the snow blower?

always gotta be the party pooper don't ya?

THAT was the thing he had on his mind. He was definitely looking for a lady friend. Doing his little love sick "mu-ah" after likely being up all night due to the bright almost full moon. He was on a mission.
I keep my distance and watch the body language. Only had a couple of close calls over the years. Once was a total surprise and once was totally my fault. I was snowshoeing and one of my shoes kept coming loose so I was trucking down the trail with my head down watching my loose shoe. The snow was icy crust and I was making a lot of noise. Next thing I know I hear three or four quick "whomp" noises up ahead of me. I froze and braced myself, knew it was something big running and I wasn't sure if it was running at me or away from me. When I finally had the nerve to look up there was a big bull moose standing up the trail staring at me. I was about 20 yards from where he was napping and he took off running when he heard me coming. Thankfully I was making enough noise that he chose to run AWAY. If he would have come at me it would have been my fault for not watching where I was going. I took a few steps back - I'm sure you know walking backwards in snowshoes is not easy - but couldnt make full retreat as I didn't want to turn my back on him. We got about 70 or 80 yards between us and he settled right back down in a new spot to continue his nap.

On any day in the early Morning or early Evening I've counted over 50 in the surrounding neighborhood

You've got to be very cautious driving around here as they jump out out onto the roads and will easily destroy a vehicle

    Boat
    5 snowblowers
    2 generators
    So I do
    Cars
