Not sure if it’s out there already but here’s a quick mod I did over the weekend to move the stock 7 pin tow harness. I modified the original harness to go from the Toyota 7 pin plug to the OE style. Now it’s a 7/4 pin 3rd gen style plug behind the license plate on a sprung plate holder and out of harms way underneath. I used an OE 7 pin splitter because I have a second 7 pin plug in the passenger storage cubby next to the 120v plug for the camper.

I like your mod but I wouldn't know about the legalities of tilting your license plate to access the plug behind it.

If you’re towing then you trailer is most likely blocking it anyway

A bit, I was joking with my brother while doing it about the time my cousin crawled out from underneath his car and just said, ”I cut my brake lines.” No major misfortunes this time though!

I thought about that, TACOMA2NDGEN pretty much answered for me.

My truck came with the tow package and the 7 pin connector. I just bought a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter and keep it in the center console. Easy peasy when needed.

Are you saying you connect different configurations depending on what you tow?

The same shit everyone else has.
Bumping this up in hopes the OP is still here….

What license plate bracket/holder did you use?

I want to relocate my 7 pin just like this and the bracket you’re using seems to work well

@AVIOTREN any chance you have the part number on that harness? I haven’t see a Toyota splitter before.
