Waytek shipping costs and website kinda piss me off. I order metripack from them. But they just ship whenever they feel like it. While prowire is lightening fast.

500’ of 14 is a different category though. Probably 40 lbs? At least 30.

They are pretty quick on my battery cable. The 500' of 14 will come from WCYW.

Great. Everything at Remy Battery is on backorder. With all those container ships sitting everywhere, this could get ugly.

Will this setup be exclusive to the 3.4 or compatible with the 2.7?

I honestly don't know right now. That will take some research. Which side of the engine is your starter on? Passenger hopefully.

2.7 starter is on the drives side above slave cylinder. I figured it was different with all the oil pan loom talk but would be interested if there was a 2.7 version. Great job pitting this together and I totally understand if your time and research only results in a 3.4 version.

I will hunt for a used 2.7 harness on ebay to reverse-engineer. I think it makes sense to offer this one as well. Plenty of them around. So Tacoma 3.4 and 2.7, as well as Tundra 4.7 are now in the pipeline.

If you're doing the 2.7 that means you also have it for the 2.4, they're physically identical on the outside.

Thank you! Saves me time on research. I set a search alert on ebay for a used harness for 2.4/2.7 tacoma. Hopefully something will show up that I can work from.

Now that I have thousands in tooling and materials, I have to stay at it.

Most are 5/16 but I have a bunch of different sized terminals in a kit and I'm fine with swapping them out if I need.

Sounds good. Now if only my order for 2 gauge 45 and 90 degree lugs, 8 gauge lugs, and 8 gauge cable wasn't all on backorder at Remy Battery. Supply chains are boinked right now. I ordered some 45 degree lugs from Del City after finding out that Remy is backordered, but they were out of 90 degree lugs as well. What a mess. The engine ground uses a 45 and I was going to use a 90 on the (+) with OEM-style battery terminals on my own truck.

The 8 gauge stuff is for the jumper from (+) battery terminal to fuse block buss, but mine is still in good condition as some others may be. I still plan to include that anyway when these roll out since it's a good "while you are there" part of it.

    Now it's the waiting game.

The latest updates... Everything is back-ordered from Remy Battery. I'm cancelling the order tomorrow and ordering from Del City. I have to change direction on the lugs attaching to the battery terminals. Standard 90-degree lugs do not have legs long enough to clear the sides of batteries properly. The OEM Yazaki 2225 90-degree lugs are impossible to get so far as I can see. I'm not sure they are still making them. The couple places I found with the part number listed showed out of stock or not available until May 2022! So, I am making my own set with standard 45 degree lugs at the battery and it looked fine when I went out and test fitted on the battery to get an idea how the cables would turn down into the harness.

As soon as I get my own cables made, I will take photos and post them here, along with photos after installation.

Finally... I'm putting my harness back together now. It's all new cable/wires except for small wire harness (exciter/alt sensor/solenoid). When those parts arrive I will offer that as well though mine was in pretty good shape for being 25 years old. Toyota spec'd good stuff from Yazaki. For now, the kit consists of the five larger cable/wire components: 2 Gauge SGX (+) and EPDM (-) battery cables, 6 Gauge EPDM chassis ground, 6 Gauge SGX alternator-to-fuseblock, and 8 Gauge SGX battery-to-fuseblock. The three small cables are all sheathed in Nu-Sleeve SG-200. Adhesive heat shrink seals all ends.
