I'm planning on seeing what Beaver can do on my Tundra trade then take that to Milton Martin. I heard from a guy on the Tundra forum that he got a good trade value from them.

Newbie here. Swear I've been searching and reading for days. I come from 4R and Sequoia, so not TOTALLY clueless on everything.

I want to jump into a TRD Off-Road. It looks like my local has a few 2021s in stock. I'm planning to go there to try and reserve a 2022, but that's because a THINK the 2022 is lifted vs the 2021. I also like the possibility of avoiding port and dealer added bullshit. I just want a decent suspension, extra ground clearance if possible, and a rear locker. No frills.

My research shows in 2021 there was a dealer installed lift kit available, with Bilstein. I also see mention of the 2022 sitting higher than all other trims, except the Pro which is even higher than the OR.

So... Can someone set me straight? Is the 22 higher or a different suspension in any way from the 21? It's unlikely, but maybe I can get something off the lot a little cheaper if they want to close a deal that day vs take a deposit on a 2022.

FWIW, I'm not looking to aftermarket mod a truck beyond probably adding sliders. I'd probably skip that if not for little kids who could use a "step".

Thanks in advance from a hopefully soon owner.

Appreciate this suggestion, i called and Asked for Brandon but he is off so left a message. Im in Winder looking to order a 22 Trail Edition in Lunar Rock and haven't had much luck yet. From what i have been told Trail edition packages and the TRD Pro have not been pushed out to dealers yet and nobody can order them/see pricing. Half the dealers ive called dont even know what the trail package is and most tell me something different than the last so not sure what to think but its been rocky.

The most helpful dealer ive spoken to thus far has been Athens Toyota but not much there still past taking my info down and they will contact me when they have more info. I'm worried Lunar Rock is going to be impossible to get on the Trail Trim with shortages so im trying to get on it ASAP. The athens Dealer told me its been hard for them to get anything in Lunar Rock because there is a paint shortage of that color, not sure if there is any truth in that or not.

Check out the trail edition SR5, based on your wants that might fit your bill, it's what im going to go with primarily because of the slight lift and the 22's have the rear locker. Its a downgrade from OR with no trail control or terrain select but the aesthetics by far make up for it at least for me. Pretty much all of the first mods i would do to an OR come stock with this package, wheels, lift, trd grill, etc.. From the research I've done pricing is going to be right in line with the OR if not a tad more but not by much.

Yeah, seems like most of us on the forums tend to know more about what's coming from Toyota more than dealers know (at least what the salesmen know). I told them months ago, when I saw the new changes, to put me on the list for the new Pro Taco so I can get out of this big ass Tundra.....lol. I've been bugging them every few weeks and gave them my build sheet Friday. So ready to get back into a smaller and more capable truck (trail wise), after Saturday night's concert parking garage issues (I felt like Austin Powers...lol).

Yea most of the sales people seem to be 100% in the dark about the trail package on tacoma's. They brought it out late in the 21 models from what i was told and it didn't sell well so i guess they revamped it this year but toyota people have no clue. Ive actually yet to talk to a single sales rep that knows anything about the trail package in the 10ish or so dealers ive called, most try to sell me the XP package or some bologna that i dont want. I have to explain it to them on the phone and they usually go talk to there manager and come back to say they know about it but have no info to give me. Ive never bought a new car so the process is new to me ontop of the supply issues right now. I noticed on toyota's website it now says the Trd Pro and Trail edition are coming in November.

Yeah, I was told by the new car manager the orders will start in October and will hopefully show up within 60 days, when before all the madness of this past 18 months it was usually a 30 day window to build, order, then take delivery.

My husband and I ordered a 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro in electric lime. Our dealers got their pricing around the middle of September. We are in Alberta, Canada and the pricing on the Pro here is $61,841+taxes. We were first on the list and they expect to get them between December and January, or that's what we are being told. Was told by a dealer today that they aren't able to order lunar rock. This is such a strange experience. Very different then when we bought our 4Runner in 2016.

Lunar rock is now a colour for lower trims, not the TRD pro.

Thanks for the info! I didn’t realize once it went to the other models that it was no longer an option for the pro line.

Just took a peek at Toyota Canada website. They don't list 2022s yet. I am waiting for an allocation too on a TRD OR also in Canada

My dealer said no pricing available yet.

I wonder if I'm getting jerked around?

On a side note the 2021 website shows $56830 for a 21 PRO automatic. That means a 5k jump? Or dealer added extras to your pricing?....just curious.

Appreciate your comments, it seems to be very location based. Im not sure if i read it in this thread or not but some user in texas was able to to pull up TRD PRO's on toyotas website and build them out. I checked his zip and it did work fine but i dont have the option to even see the truck in my zip.

We were told that was MSRP and that it is the biggest jump they have seen in a long time. Whether they are being truthful or not I am not sure.

Edited to add: We did get pricing from 2 other dealerships in the area recently and they were exactly the same price as our dealer, so I am thinking either they are all working together or the price really jumped that much.

The MSRP (including delivery charge, excluding taxes) for 2022 Pros in USD are $45,595 (manual) and $48,300 (automatic).

Just converting those to Canadian dollars at today's rate it's $57589 (manual) and $60993 (automatic).

Earlier in the year (April) the $CAD was worth significantly less than $USD. (1.4 vs 1.26)
