At what temperature do you go like: “oh shit, I better go and get me a sweater”? For me, it’s 70 degrees if it’s night time. :anonymous:

I guess we should clarify. Does a flannel shirt count?

Oh....no sweaters here. Usually a fleece pullover or a flannel shirt.

Flannel time is around 55° for me. Full on jacket/sweater is 50°. I can't tolerate the cold too much, and to think I moved back North.

I guess since the weather is getting cooler around here it's time to make Manhattan's. Stopped by the store today for all the fixin's :D

You moved back up north because you like lumberjacks and that's okay...

Score one point for me. I think that makes us even.

On another note, the truck of squats lost third gear synchro. Went for third on the drive home and she ground the gears with the clutch on the floor. Going to do a fluid change Friday before the racing this weekend and hope for the best. Luckily I only need first and second for racing. Going to try and find the redline stuff locally if I can.

That's what you get for granny shiftin', not double clutching like you should :D Redline MT90 isn't what it's cracked up to be, but might be better than what's in there now, just a FYI.

I've been hem-hawing about what I want to do with my beater. It's listed on marketplace for $1800 and still no bites. It has been sitting for a little bit and it started right up today and idled beautifully. Thing just don't want to die. Now, I did smoke out the people behind me driving through town as I let it sit and idle in front of the house for 1/2 and hour talking to the neighbor

I still vote that you save the poor thing!

edit: I'm all ears for a better fluid to use.

Heh, yea I have the capability to do what I need to on it, and (not trying to brag at all) the money behind it, but I don't know if I can ever justify it. Registration is due in February and it's gonna get Antique tags so no more inspections :D

Far as the fluid, I had a list here somewhere of what GL4 trans fluids were good, but I can't find it. Redline MT90 is a decent product, don't get me wrong, but there is alternatives. The biggest complaint is cold weather performance, which you don't need to worry about as Squatty is a summer truck.

I would venture to say we're both about the same distance, you just have a more direct route. I gotta go through the river and the woods to get there  If I can ever find a house over in Mercersburg, then yea I'd be closer :D

Almost tempted to wait out the winter and see what kind of loan I can get to build something. Thinking of a big metal shop type building that has a living quarters, aka big ass garage space. Mother dearest has approved of this, actually was her idea (and you know the whole living situation). Mortgage company I'm working with now basically can do almost what I want with my credit. :D

You think I can justify this truck or the beater? If it makes you smile and you feel good about it at the end of the day that's all that matters.

It makes me smile annoying the neighbors and folks in town with the obnoxious exhaust

Kinda weird, but I'm reliving my 16 year old years through this thing some how. These were still around when I was that age. The Fast and Furious thing was still in full force in that time (2006) and I was stuck with an Oldsmobile. I can do engine repair, and body/paint work now compared to my teenage years so I should just go for it... Damn you BananaMan for spending my money!
