Thoughts on 37s

Even for thoes with a 2" body lift? Just asking.

 

Oh 100% cutting will be happening regardless. Just looking at how far back you cut I am thinking I would have to relocate the body mount again. I believe you have the redcoat fab bodycount which relocates the mounting hole. I am still using the stock hole with a home made mount. Wondering how much issues this will give me.

I may need to play with my caster a bit but I am kinda limited with the poly tacocams. Think I have 2ish degrees right now.

I'm about a year and a half out from 37's.
I'll let everyone know if a 2" body lift reduces cutting or even eliminates cutting, which I'm hoping for.

Is there a reason why everyone is welding and no one is gluing a panel on? I don't know much about glue but car manufactures do use glue to put panels together. maybe even a really strong silicone like windshield installations.

 

Manufactures spot weld panels then seam seal it.

Heres a few pictures of what it took me to fit 37s with all the stock sheet metal. This is factory width, -38 17x9 beadlocks on bfg 37 krawlers. Alot of hammering, and it still rubs.

 

Was anything cut out or was this just hammered

 

Cab mount was cut out and relocated. Sheet metal was just hammered.

 

How long did it take and with how big of a hammer?

 

12lb sledge. Times really depends on the size of your arms. The lower firewall can be a pain to move, but the rest moves pretty easily.

Be careful as there are alot of wires down there that can get pinched, and someone else advised me that hammering too far on the firewall can move the door hinge.

 

Did you heat any of it up or dose it move pretty good just as is?

 

I don't think heating it up would do anything besides catching the undercoating on fire.
