I have about a year to decide whether I want to go to graduate school in or out of state... Cannot wait to move but... LEAVE California or stay?! I'm not too familiar with the pros/cons of other states.

what are your options? better schools located out of state or in cali. ? I say leave while the gettin's good.!! i would go the cheaper route, i am sure tution might come into play here. maybe maybe not, If your parents are paying for this then go out of state if the school is better.

In California my options are LA or San Diego area... out of state I've only looked into Oregon, NY and Washington. Parents are not paying for anything

fuck california if you can get out definitley do so ... furthermore if youve considered UofO in eugene, oregon, they will hook up in state tuition for ca residents if you live in the dorms ... so show up, get or plates and dl, and after a year youre a resident and you can live off campus

best of luck and i expect an invite to some ducks games if you do go that route.

Get out! (Arnolds voice). If I had the chance I would leave CA. Way too expensive to live here.

Come to Oregon!! I am a California native(Visalia) but moved to to Oregon wit my family when I was 10(Portland area). I was stationed down at Camp Pendleton for 4 years and recently moved back home. Only thing I miss about socal is their mexican food and their variety of off road trails.

You mentioned Portland for schooling well they got Portland State University. Down south me as mention you can either go ducks or beavers :) and obviously there are lots more others. Oh, and if you enjoy the rain, cold weather and want to enjoy all 4 seasons then the pacific northwest is your place(WA & OR) :)

Good luck with your decision and be sure to weigh your pros and cons.

Hey! I have friends at Pendleton... Yes I really want to attend Portland State but my friend's discouraged me. They said that I'm going to be depressed since I've lived next to the beach all my life... But I love cold and rainy weather! I think I should go visit.

It's a great idea to leave the People's Republic of Commiefornia ASAP. College costs are skyrocketing, quality is bombing and even more people are trying to get in. If you want a more down to earth type of people, come to Eastern Washington/Idaho schools (Whitworth, Gonzaga, EWU, U of I, or best of all WSU). I am from CA and the people up here are completely different (much nicer/more fun and did I mention there is no traffic?).

UO is highly populated with CA kiddos. Seattle area is as well (plus it's more liberal... bleh)

Another reason to come to WA: You can get the most of your Taco off-roading while taking your legally purchased firearms to awesome natural ranges!

P.S. Avoid the "other" Washington. That shithole's filled with politicians who are like diapers - they need to be changed often and for the same reason!

Im a NorCal native and have moved to Oregon, came back to Cali for better pay for the time being. But wanting to head back to Oregon since my Parents have been up there for 12 yrs now and we spend most of my vacation up there. Oregon has great people and the offroading is good out thru Mid eastern Oregon and Near Bend,Or. I really like Coos Bay area as well but not much work there. I love the Sand Dunes on the Oregon coast as well. Good Luck with your choice.
