It came from somewhere rusty that's for sure. Had bad rad support that I had to remake and bolts were always a chore. Cluster never worked right until I had United Radio rebuild it, it was an SE and I wanted to keep my white gauges.

I assume there's no real difference in doing front/rear suspension on a 2nd gen than a 1st gen, right

Friend of mine with a 2010 bought a front/rear Bilstein kit (6112s I think) with UCAs and an AAL and wants to DIY. He's never worked on it before so I might have him come over and help him out. Figure there can't be much difference other than size of the bolts. I hear the UCAs are more of a pain on the 2nd gens

Its pretty much the same. I think the 1st gen is a little easer on the front. The 2nd gen steering rack is in front of the CV axles and makes it a little harder to get the coil/shock out. But overall not to hard to do.

Weird I didn't know it was in front of them like that. Yeah, I figured if anything it was about the same process just a little trickier due to more stuff in the way.. being a newer/bigger model and all.

Yeah the little more stuff is a pain. We did my friends FJ in a little less than 2 hours for both sides and it is the same setup as the 2nd gen. Don't forget to get some coil compressors.

Tell me more about this LSPV delete, my quick google search didn’t bring up a write up or anything.

I don’t wanna trash up that thread more than I already do.

luckily his coils and shocks are already assembled by whoever he ordered them from, CaliraisedLED I think. They offered to install for him too but the labor charge was nuts so I offered to help

You literally remove one of the LSPV lines that runs to the front brake tee and cap at the tee and use the other line with a manual valve up by the brake master and then hook your axle brake line to that line you left without the LSPV. Pretty simple really and requires a fuckload less brake fluid too.

Rip out all the hard lines and run new ones to the front and rear. If you delete the LSPV and keep factory lines the front brake line is going to run all the way to the back of the truck and to the front for no reason.

Put an adjustable Wilwood prop valve on the line to the rear.
