I wish something worthwhile! Tiny cigarette burn from one of my bum buddies. Now the whole seat has to go.

Hit the gravel on the east range this weekend. goal is to slowly try to hit as much of the gravel and trails as possible.

Check out the seat delete threads. I’m sure someone has one they are looking to get rid of

I’m looking to do an OVtune on my Tacoma, and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a place in the twin cities that does them? According to their website, the closest option would be Des Moines?

Going to get the TRD Lift Kit installed this Friday at Rudy Luther. Hope all goes well. I've worked with them in the past and they're solid folks. I'm hoping they let me keep my fog lights being that MN is one of the states listed as having to remove them on install.

Good excuse to get new fog lights though. But after wheels and tires :)

Why would you need to remove the fogs?

Also, why not do the install yourself?

Toyota instructs dealers in some states (MN is one of them) that lifting the truck makes the fog light non-compliant with state law, so they need to be removed. I'll ask for them to leave it on and look the other way. Hopefully they're game for it.

And I do not trust myself to do that at all. At all. No way. Im not that guy (at least not yet) haha
Plus the warranty gives me peace of mind and the TRD pro grille+garnish install made this a no brainer for me.

Looks like dealer install to maintain factory a warranty, which is bullshit, and I’m sure a decent lawyer could quickly shot on that clause.

But if you are going to have them do it, pull your fogs out and set them on your kitchen table. When you get the truck back, put them back in. I wouldn’t trust them to do you a solid, nor would I trust them to just hand you back your take-offs.

Lastly, DIY is how you become that guy. ;)

It's great to say you'll just get a "decent lawyer" if they give you warranty pushback, but that costs time and money to deal with. Even if you somehow get them to pay back the lawyer fees as part of the settlement (who knows if that would even happen, good luck!), you've wasted a shitton of time and energy. Sometimes it's easier just to pay a bit extra and get it done by the dealer so you know they can't blame anyone else.

As for the fogs, they are your property so they damn well give them back to you if they pull them. If they say they have to take 'em out, just remount and plug them back in when you get home, or take it as an impetus to upgrade.

@TheeNorthStar Keep us updated! I'm considering getting the OEM lift also and have an 8yr Toyota warranty, so anything that saves me hassle down the road is good in my book. Also I don't have a ton of time or skill in that area, so I'd probably be paying someone else to do it either way, might as well be the dealer. When I got an oil change done at Carlson I asked about the kit and cost to install. They quoted me just over $2k for parts and labor, so I'm interested to see what Rudy Luther ends up charging you.

I used them in the past when I had free oil changes, but outside of that I found their work and parts to be expensive. I had Samaritan Tire install my lift (had it all assembled, so it was essentially bolt on work and then do an alignment) and they did a good job. Post up some pics of some before an afters!

I've read great things about Samaritan Tire. Its great to hear you had a good experience with them as well. I'll likely have them do any tire/wheel/alignment work in the future.

Out of the dealerships I called, Rudy was for sure the most expensive of them all. However, I "negotiated" it down to quotes I heard from Inver Grove and Walser. I was leaning Walser but after reading some of the stories on here and DealerRater, I just opted to work with Rudy again given my recent positive experiences with them in the past. I'll be sure to post pics!

Installed. No vibrations (thank the lawd). Rides smooth and straight. Fog lights left in and working. Kept the grille and shocks. Although they did try to pull a fast one and keep it. But I got it.

all in all I’m pretty content.

Hi just got back. Not my truck makes a Westland noise around 60 mph and also a flapping noise. Research time. Thinking it's those flaps on the inner fenders.
