I believe this scenario just means more pedal needed going uphill to keep accelerating :

    :playball:

hope these happen soon. have lag at ~2500rpm. Feels like the truck just gives up for half a second and then it.get going again. WOT from a dead stop doesn't reproduce it.. It's only when lugging the engine down and before the downshift kicks in. Can reproduce readily. Did an oil change/flush and it seems better but still there. I don't mind buying stock again if it's gonna be awhile but want to tamp out this gremlin asap.

Haven't gotten an answer from Red Bullet. Possibly due to the major festival/holiday this past weekend in Taiwan .

Will update this thread as soon as I have pertinent information.

I cheat. I have a SC and lightweight pulleys so the engine revs really quickly. A lot quicker than OE could ever hope to do with it's steel pulleys.

Atta boy. Do you want me to put you in for x2?

Same. I already know how these things work, it's nice to see things quantified on factual numbers now.

Okay, for some reason I have not been kept in the loop on continuous commenting that has gone on in this thread. Good old TW glitch.

I need to know who is in and wants to be added.

If you are in just say the word and I'll add you.

Actually, a few things but nothing much on the 1GRFE GB front. I spoke with Red Bullet 2 days ago in regards to a few issues. He did say he's working on the pricing still and should have it available by the end of the week.

A couple things going on in the backend. Red Bullet requested a set of the stock 1GR-FE solenoids to try and secure pricing that is more favorable for everyone. @12TRDTacoma generously donated his solenoids for this cause. RB has these solenoids as of 2 days ago.

Secondly, I convinced Red Bullet that he has a market with the 4.7L and 5.7L V8 owners if his products test well on that platform. Hopefully, Tundra, T4R, Sequoia, LC owners can also validate thiese solenoids.

What in the world is the link between them having a set of OEM solenoids, and the cost for the group buy? Makes me wonder why they want stockers... did they develop these for the 1gr without having any originals in the first place?

From what I can tell, it has to do with the bracketry of the solenoid and leveraging one manufacturer against another.

*this is just my own opinion.

**I'm also hoping going this extra mile for him helps us secure the best possible GB pricing for TW.

"I scratch your ballz...you scratch mine" sort of thing....

There was a bracket design issue initially prior to getting the first set of solenoids so I would have to stand by Eddie's assumption as well since these are not your typical Toyota VVT solenoids where the brackets just come straight out. They do some really stupid intricate bends in them, and then you can bolt them on.

I also stand behind him on the scratch your ballz you scratch mine. For moral support of course. ;)

I also have to put out that I wasn't able to test 0-60 times on the OE and compare them out to the Red Bullet VVT's for sake of getting these out to you guys, that plus my garbage physical condition since all of this begun. I'm sorry guys. I can obviously get a 0-60 of the RB's but will not have a recent log of the OE's to match them up with.

they are stamped brackets so im not too sure how much better than can do on pricing but am looking forward to the pricing that they can hopefully present at the end of the week.

Getting the color is the right move but VVT solenoids work like a light bulb if memory serves me correct. They don't care which way power and ground is fed.
