I hears so much hype when the building was being built and they had a bunch of newspaper clippings framed on the walls about how amazing everything is. Ordered my burger and fries - burger was average at best and the fries were soggy.

Looking at their menu, if I take my 2 kids, I'll be on the hook for about $60 because if I'm going to do it, you know I'm going all in and getting the fries and shake and they'll follow suit.

...^^^... Small burger for each person (burgers are big and loaded with goodies for free) ... split a small fries (which is big) ... and water for each person ... you can do all 3 people for $25.00 easily and have 99% of the good tastes and less calories and fat and grease ...

...^^^... Went to Loretta's for some home cooked food .... crispy fried catfish (not greasy) .... Mac and cheese with crunchy topping .... seasoned green beans .... and a biscuit type muffin that looked crunchy but literally melted in my mouth  .... and Ken's Tartar Sauce is about the best for cafeteria style meal like this. Water to drink.

The cool thing is they bill you by the number of different items you put on your plate ... NOT about your portion size (as long as it's reasonable).

$7.35 + $2.00 tip buys you a super big and delicious lunch ... :hungry: ... my last meal for today ..... only an apple or banana and some nuts later.

**** A lot of the "Country Cooking Places" just deal in low quality, cheap, high carb foods and I don't eat there ....

This place is different and really prepares all of their food from scratch with quality ingredients and much less oil and grease.

So my wife was recently diagnosed with Celiac’s (her sister got diagnosed a year ago). Now whenever she gets any wheat her gut goes haywire. We forgot that there are breadcrumbs in meatloaf and it made for a horrible night.

Anyhoo, today is her birthday so I made her a from-scratch almond flower chocolate cake with scratch-made icing.

    God, I hope it’s good.

Found a volume burger place that is as good as or better than Five Guys.

This burger is the Best For The $$$ anywhere. :hungry:

$4.24 + tax for this delicious treat and the taste was the best ever.

Over $2.00 cheaper than Five Guys and that is with cheese on this burger.

$4.49 total for lunch with water.

The name of the new chain here (in our area) is CULVER’S and they have a large menu.

They remind me of Chick-Fil-A but with burgers.

That’s tough, but it gets more manageable as you work it into your everyday. Fortunately enough, many restaurants are recognizing the need for gluten free and no cross contamination kitchens! Feel free to come hang out with us here and if you ever have any questions, I can do my best to help you out.

    Passes the “licked spoon” test.

We’ll be getting into it tonight. It looks janky but the test crumbs were pretty good. Used maple syrup to assist with texture and sweetness, and didn’t taste like maple. Mind blown.

My wife can't have wheat, either, so I usually try to double check labels for her. The two things that surprised us for having wheat are Twizzlers and Werthers.

Hope her birthday and the cake are good!
