Jumping in on page 138 here. Has anyone posted a weatherproof one for when you don't have a topper?

Is that just black paint over wood?

Drifta $2300 plus $300 for freight shipping. Kakadu Camping is in Richmond so it’s much closer. Also, Matt at Kakadu has amazing customer service.

Harrop lockers and regear were through ECGS. Did there assembled third and clamshell swap. Shipping sucked…our dollar sucked….so it was spendy.

For those that haven't carpeted their wooden platforms: what route did you go to protect the wood from moisture?

*Bonus points if you used maple & include picture(s)

I'm leaning towards stain then regular sealer but open to suggestions.

Spar varnish would be mine. It adds UV protection as well.

    Sadly, not much.
That is a great setup, how much did it set you back?

LB sleeping setup. Main platform is 26” wide, 33” with the wheel well extension. Storage compartment tat the front with a lift off lid, chair, table storage at the rear accessible with the tailgate down. Wheel well extension also life’s off for storage. I still need to decide what to cover the top of the platform with to reduce sliding of my air mattress.

I use bed liner spray, makes everything look like the high dollar Goose Gear stuff, keeps everything waterproof. Durable.

I used Thompson’s Water Seal stain. May not be the best but I have a gallon of it. Lol

No, I forgot those were there lol. They are the rubber wear strips out of the Yakima roof tracks. I had pulled them out when I mounted my homemade aluminum extrusion crossbars.
