On another note, both of the times my truck has been to the dealer in the last month and a half have been logged into Carfax; However, my truck's emissions test/state inspection was also on August 16th and that hasn't been logged yet...

Is that a free service to look that up?
Or do you have to pay for it?

I pay for it; Pisses me off because you used to get unlimited license plates for 60 days for like $70, and then it increased to $100...

Now, you get six reports for $100, and it doesn't matter if you go by VIN or license plate (the old package gave you five VIN-based reports that never expired, and unlimited license plate-based reports for 60 days)!

2015 was NOT a good year for my truck; I got rear-ended by a texting driver in March and sideswiped by a drunk driver in October!

So my 09 was inspected and sprayed on 2019. I asked the dealer last week if there was any new recalls or updates and they said nope. I see some people are getting the cards in the mail for the CRC spray? What's the likelihood that mine might be inline for either a CRC or re-look at the frame???

When was your truck purchased? Mine is a 2010, but it manufactured in August 2009 and purchased new by my dad on September 30th, 2009; Therefore, it's time is up just two days from now...

Sadly, I think your warranty period is up since they probably stopped making 2009 Tacomas in July '09... :(

Well the case was first logged on September 24th so it's officially in the system...

Did you see the pics of mine? It's only slightly smaller than a penny and located on the right frame rail next to the catalytic converter...

The date it was manufactured has little to do with the warranty expiration date. The only date that matters is the first in-service date. If a truck sat on a dealer lot for a long time, that can make a huge difference.

I know this; My truck was purchased new on September 30th, 2009 and the warranty expired in two days...

The dealer approved it and sent it some guy who said he didn't like the pictures; Unknown if Toyota Corporate has gotten the pictures yet...

Only thing I'm worried about is how close we're cutting it!

Makes you wonder how many trucks have very rusty frames but not quite bad enough to get replaced only to have the frame fail in the next year or two.

So you don't think 12 years of frame coverage is adequate?

Yeah, call me crazy but I don’t think 12 years of frame coverage is adequate. I know this isn’t specific to Toyota as a buddy of mine has a 09 Chevy pickup that just had a frame failure due to rust. But what gets me is that Toyota used to be known for their body rust issues but they seemed to have solved those problems. On my 09 the back-side of the body panels are immaculate! Seriously, they look brand new. But the frame? Not so much.

Same, but Glenn D and company are still the best.

Won't get a re-treat of the CRC spray, you already got that in 2019. Goes by 12 years from the first date the vehicle was registered/titled/insured and put into service, so you need to find out that date.
