if you aren’t looking to give a kidney and have time to wait, maybe look for something a little older. There are some folks that have to have the latest gizmo and gadget, and you’ll pay a premium for it. I’m more under the KISS method and function over form, hence why I’m still driving a 20 year old diesel but it’s never let me down and has less things to break than modern vehicles.

If you’re leasing your current taco anyhow I wouldn’t even care about what happens to it from towing or a little roughhousing lol, that’s the benefit of the lease.

Wellllllll...... I have a couple pair that the fabric around the elastic is pretty shoddy. Boxer shorts are hard to come by this comfy. Although I've noticed in the past couple years aren't very supportive as they need to be. Ok, that's TMI

LMFAO. I’ll continue wearing with the best of them but when that elastic starts going I trade them out. I’d be one swift camping trip away from them fully disintegrating, my boys need a house :anonymous:

Kiss method?… Even used ones are the same price as new, but the first time I put a scratch in it, I would cry. Whether it’s my Tacoma or a sports car. I take great care of my stuff.

I can hold off, I’ll ride out the rest of my lease and see what’s around. Hopefully the market will cool a little by then. When I traded my 19 in they sold it with 36k miles for more then new sticker price.

That’s why I said you’d have some time to wait, used prices are almost rivaling new prices. Mostly because the demand for new vehicles can’t be met due to supply issues so the used car market becomes more lucrative because people still need vehicles. KISS. For me, if I had to pay the same price for a used older vehicle with less doodads as a new vehicle with shit I wouldn’t use, I’d pick the older vehicle any day of the week assuming the older one was in decent mechanical condition.

Imagine having a vehicle leave you stranded for a feature you don’t even use, yeah I’ll pass on that

I was under the impression that in 1986 the only size motors that were available in the Hilux were the 22R and the 3.0?
I thought the 3.4 came out with the 1st gen Tacoma in 1995.5?
Prior to the 1st gen Tacoma was a 3.4 offered?
My 87 was a carborated 22R no EFI or turbo

Unless he did a swap maybe, the 5VZ-FE first was offered as the V6 in the 1st gen Tacomas. No 3.4L engine was available in first gen pickup/4runners from the factory. The options were 3VZ-E which was the notorious V6 with head gasket issues, or the 22R, 22RE, or 22R-TE for the 4 cylinder options.

Both were failed swaps they both had the wiring so messed up .

Was not a hard fix just very time consuming with the correct schematics .

Plus other odds and ends that needed attention.

    I love this weather.

I may give the truck a wash after work, as it's pretty dirty from 5 straight weekends at either camp or the motocross track lol.

Texted the picture to a friend in Iowa and she was amazed he was staying up there until I texted her these; Nothing special, just for strategically placed zip ties...
