God d*mn it!! T-boned driving through a green light today. Lady straight up ran the red. I am already feeling the soreness creep in. Got driver's side front fender, driver door, rear door. Cab to bed alignment is really skewed now when I look down the truck from the front.

Pics below. I also have my dash cam footage but haven't figure out how to upload...thumbnail_IMG_0701.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0702.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0703.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0704.jpg thumbnail_IMG_0705.jpg

    Sorry to see this.
    Hopefully you recover quickly.

Accidents happen, I know it sucks.
But at least you are here to tell us about it.

Have you seen the new Tundra? ;)
Or you stick with the Tacoma?

Hate to see this for you and your truck...BUT...at least it wasn't one of those T-bones where the vehicle is folded into a V and your body & limbs are smashed/powdered into pieces.

Sorry to hear it man. Painful to hear another Taco goes down from a red light runner.

Luck you are well enough to turn this bus around in your favor. You'll probably get more for your truck than you would have two years ago.

Don't let the insurance company low ball you when they try to cash you out for a totaled truck.

If they show you low values from comparable vehicles currently out there, you should have the option to have them buy it and replace yours.

Odds are good that they won't find too many vehicles that match your truck close enough for cheap, let alone for sale. All in your favor!!

Fwiw, I've been t boned in a tacoma before with no rock sliders to help protect, and it looked a lot worse than this but the frame was fine.

Morning all. Thanks for the kind words. Feeling sore this morning. I have to say kudos to 4X Innovation Rock Sliders. They definitely helped absorb the impact. As for what happens now, gotta make a claim. I hope they don't total it but if they do, I will fight for every penny because looking at craigslist right now, I couldn't afford to buy my own truck again. It's crazy out there. More to follow. Stay safe everyone and get a dash cam!

If they do total it out and offer you a solid payout, be sure to look into buying it back from them.

If you have the space to either rebuild it and sell with a branded title, or part it out and sell everything, you can make a good bit of coin either way.

All the while, you drive around in your replacement rig.

Glad you weren't seriously injured! I definitely agree with the OP about having a dash cam. I had one in my Lexus and although I didn't have actual footage of the the chick rear ending me, it showed the traffic situation in front of me and that she was clearly not paying attention to the road ahead. And it doesn't need to be an expensive dash cam, mine was only around $70.

Afternoon all. Just got an estimate from the shop and was amazed that their take on the damage is only $5,500! I said...Sold! Fix it. They're even going to order me a new 4X Innovations slider so I am stoked about that. And yes, the dash cam is pretty fish eye and have mine mounted next to the passenger pillar. Therefore it did catch her at ramming speed right up until she moved past my drivers side pillar. I can't upload a video here. Will see if I can share it some other way.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, but just make sure everything is getting fixed that needs to be. In other words, not just the cosmetic stuff (i.e. body panels, slider, etc.), but also ensure that the frame and any other associated hidden underlying parts aren't tweaked that could cause issues down the road. That to me is what I'd be most concerned about.

how fast was the tbone, okay how fast was the speed limit....
    Glad you're okay overall.
something to look into is insurance $$ I have chatted with my insurance before like hey what if someone hits me and totals aftermarket add ons. If I keep proof of prices/ invoices etc my insurance will factor that in. Including tire tread. I asked specifically because aftermarket sliders, rear bumper, custom headlights, light bar etc. Not all insurances do but wouldn't hurt to ask.

    +1

OP, did you get estimates from at least 3 different shops spread out across your ZIP code?

Are you having the other party's insurance company cover the claim? If so, they will certainly want to have their own adjuster look your truck over before decisions are made.

Trust me... get a dash cam
I had a lady In a Camry last October slam on her brakes to come to a complete stop in the middle of road unexpectedly.
