I want to post for clarity. This is no fault on Morimoto. For the record, the agreement was they produce the circuit boards/internals and then ship to my factory(where all the molds for the housings are) which would then complete assembly(ultrasonic weld the front lens on). After Morimoto produced them, each one was age tested, QC'd, and verified functional. The problem ended up being when we sealed them together, some of the internal lens pushed into the leds causing the issue. The buck stops with me, and we should have tested every single one after assembly. But regarding the tail lights, be rest assured these are being produced 100% in house by Morimoto so I would have no doubt on the quality of the final products.

Well, I just received my turn signals today (USPS thinks 2 day shipping means 7 day shipping), and found that my driver's side has a few LED's out as well. :pout:

Sent in a ticket, hopefully USPS gets off their ass this time around so I can finally do this install.

Thank you for the clarification and again, mad respect for a man who stands behind his product and owns it when there is a problem. I appreciate your transparency (I hate that term) and will continue being a supporter/customer. Looking forward to my new turn signal and taillights. Thank you sir

I have no idea why I was thinking about this today, but driving home from work I was like, I wonder if it would work with the DRL bright input? So, did you try hooking up your strobe controller to the DRL? My thought is there has to be less controllers on the DRL input then the signal input, right? Just a thought…

Yep, I tried all 3 connections with the strobe controller, none of them worked right to give a good strobe pattern. I ended up ordering a set of older meso turn signals and will end up wiring the strobes in the same way I did my front and rears. The controller in there has to sense if there is turn signal input to turn off the DRL lights, so its still getting the delay that prevents it from strobing.

Haven't had the time to actually install these and wire them properly, but had a spare half hour and just ran out to test my set to see if there were any LED issues. Just wired them to the driver headlight on the outside of the truck to test out the DRL and turn functions on both new signals. Thankfully both work flawlessly. Going to try and do the full install and wiring on friday, I'll post up pics!

I really wanted these to work with the strobe, and I think they could of if I removed the controller and just wired them right to the turn signal leads, and then to the strobe controller, but im not about trying to take them apart and risk breaking the lenses.

What about adding an additional strip outside the Pods?

Originally I was going to get those ditch lights that have built in strobes, but it would of been out of sync. I mainly need the strobes in the mirrors for the side view of the truck, right now front a rear are doing just fine, but I want that extra visibility when people are coming to the side of me. But I dont like having the LEDs out and visible, I want everything hidden when not in use

I also need to run some strobe leads up the the 3rd brake light and put some yellow LEDs in there for higher up alerts.

Got them installed. Waiting on a harness from MESO for the DRLs. Everything looks good though!

Stew I installed mine and the turn signals are good. Haven’t hook up the DRL function yet is there a way to check if the LEDs are good without fully hooking them up or should they be ok if the turn signals are good

    Thanks

Well shit. No wonder I haven't gotten my lights yet. My address on the shipping is wrong. Apparently it's been circulating around the post office for about a week now. I was trying to call them to talk with a person, with their business hours ending at 8:30 EST (right now 7:00 EST). No luck, so I sent them an email with the right info. Hopefully it can be corrected...

If you want to test them real easy, unplug the yellow barrel plug, then put the red wire to the yellow plug and turn on your turn signal. It will flash the DRL like a turn signal.

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.

Thanks, I installed them today and it looks like it's working just fine for turns. I was wondering if I just stick the exposed red wire coming from the DRL barrel plug into the yellow barrel plug if it would work or if there would be any chance of something going wrong. Great way to determine if they're g2g before getting too deep into things.

yup just plug the red wire into any 12V and it will turn the DRL's on for function test.
