This guy gets it. Don't do big groups and the last 18 months hasn't helped me feel any better about it.

I'd do a Windrock run. I need somewhere with lots of downhill singletrack for my longboi mountain bike and that place looks awesome.

    I'm
I'm still amazed that this isn't just the hottest shit on TW for the 8" clamshell...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/8”-ifs-clamshell-w-frs-torsen.561017/

Is there something really prohibitive about making these? I'm trying to figure out why they aren't available. It's not like every 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma has the same front diff or anything.

I was talking with the fiance about that weekend and we were wondering if anybody from our group was planning on camping the night of the 9th.

I'm all in. I have a hardtail that I never get to ride because it suuuuuucks for climbing and is only good for bombing down big stuff, which we don't have around KC. Plus lift service is always better for fun, I'm not looking to work out lol

Because Torsen sounds like Torsion, and torsion bars smack of Mopar.

@Slashaar it won't let me quote right... so:

    But... but... MaH dReAmS!!1!!1

Wouldn't it be cool to have locking hubs so we don't have to care as much about what goes in the front clamshell? :poking:

And we probably won't camp, the dang dogs are too needy and can't be trusted off-leash. I was just wondering out loud really.

Essentially yeah. That one wheel does spin the differential though when coasting. I know it's not a good argument for locking hubs, I just want what I want.

That's why with an actuated locker such as arb or Harrup it won't ever spin the diff same with the open diff you have now it just spins the one spider gear.
