Tell me about it. My parents came to visit during the rib cook-off and were telling me horror stories of how bad it's gotten. They live in Bakersfield so it was bound to happen anyways but it's crazy how much worse it seems compared to here. I'll never move back unless it's to some cabin in the woods.

Yeah its pretty shitty to see how much inait disdain for each other there seems to be over there. I love rural CA... wouldn't mind a place up in Quincy / Portola area but I could never live there. Its a beautiful state and terribly sad how rare it is these days to hear someone say they love living there.

Born and raised in Tahoe . It just isn’t the same anymore… crazy how everyone will tell me how lucky I am to live here and how amazing and quiet it is… and all I can think is if you only had any clue how it used to be .

I can attest to the topic. I have lived in Northern NV since the early 80’s. The wife and I got board and said let’s move, so it was a coin toss between Oregon and Colorado. We moved to Oregon and lived there exactly 5 years to the date when we moved back. We have now been here for for almost 3 years. The area has changed a lot, I like that the area is growing, which brings more opportunities for more people to do better, but……………… The amount of crime, violence and the very large homeless population has me thinking people in suits are failing us. My .02 cents.

I joined the military and left Truckee 11 years ago. Everytime I'm back I cringe driving through downtown. I understand tourism keeps that place going but it's so different now.

I've always mounted the rear shocks without a jack. There isn't any sprung tension.

You should be able to access both the top and bottom without issue from what I can see but it does help to have it up a bit and the wheel out of the way. It would cut down time if you left it on the ground though.

Rumor is they have a fairly long lead time coming from magnuson so I may end up having to pay a shop for the install if we get a real winter this year since I'll be wrenching in the driveway.

You can feel the hatred as soon as you get across state lines going back home. Was pretty much immediate people were riding your ass, zipping in and out of lanes like we were on a nascar track, possibly someone flipping the bird.

As far as my family goes we were afraid to talk to people. Pretty much assuming people wouldn’t like us from the start. Being in California for this long will do that to you. Was definitely nice having people come up to talk to us just because. Down here it’s just dirty looks.

Neighbors are what makes a neighborhood. Otherwise it's just a hood.

My Dad taught me from a very young age . Usually on hunting trips … take off your front license plate and back in and hide your rear one wherever you camp

    Everyone hates Californians

I always do it with the wheels on. Usually the shocks come compressed. Mount the bottom first. Make sure the top mounting stud has the bushing and washer that goes below the top mount on. Cut the strap or zip tie keeping it compressed and guide the top of the shock into the upper mount. The shocks expand pretty slow so as long as you have the bottom mounted it’s easy to guide the top in.
