Going to pick up my topper this weekend.

I love this color when I repainted my mustang I thought about doing it in this.

 

Was out the other day and came across my doppelganger, almost.

We splurged a bit on my 10 year cancer survivor gift and decided to sell our travel trailer and pick up something that was better suited to tow to the places we like to camp and we ended up with the Patriot Campers X3. It is 3,500lbs loaded and feels like it was built to play with the Tacoma. Tows great on and off road. Has airbags to help smooth out the ride, set the proper tow height regardless of load, and level it out when setting up camp.


Sleeps 4 (until the kids are old enough and we kick them out). I built a platform for the 2nd kid but when it is removed there is a seating area and table inside along with the queen size mattress so there is space out of the elements if the weather is crappy.




Has a bitchin' kitchen setup. Holds nearly 35 gallons of water. There is a Webasto diesel hot water heater that does double duty as a heater for the tent, a Dometic 75L dual zone fridge, a dual burner stove, and a Weber grill. The trailer has mounts for 2 11lb propane tanks for the grill, stove, and a gas fire pit that we pack in the truck.






Also shares the same bolt pattern as the Tacoma so I picked up a pair of F5s for it and it'll fit in the garage.


I can get it fully setup (unhitched/leveled, sleeping area, and kitchen) in about 10 minutes with help from MrsTaco if we are taking our time. Breaking down and getting it hitched up takes 15 to 20 minutes.


We ordered it in Dec 2020 and picked it up on Nov 2021...most of the delay was due to shipping from Australia. In the time we've had it we have spent 2 weeks camping and towed it over 3,000 miles (most of that mileage was coming home from picking it up in OK). This was our first night camping in it at a winery in TX when we were heading home from OK.
