I have always been a fan of darker plates. I think one of the Navy ones would be cool.

Nice! I voted for the navy blue with the red border. I like them all honestly!

When would they come out? See how long I can stall to get my plates haha

No idea when they will be out, but probably not till next year. Of course, you could get the Shoals plate or one of the others to start and if you like the new plate better you can get one then.

Typically, whenever a new standard plate comes out, they will give everyone a new plate at their next renewal, so I wouldn't be worried about being stuck with the old/current plate.

REI supports anti land access organizations such as the Sierra Club and USFWS.

I gladly will spend my money with organizations that support the Blue Ribbon Coalition/CORVA/CAL4 even if they are more spendy.

I currently live in Pennsylvania, but if I had to move Tennessee would be one of my first choices; I know that at least one of the more populous cities requires annual emissions testing, but does Tennessee have any annual or biannual vehicle safety inspections?

Sounds like my kinda place! I actually take care of my truck and it has NEVER failed an emissions test or safety inspection, so I'm sick of paying a mechanic to tell me that my truck is in perfect working order! Other states I am considering if I ever decide to move are South Carolina and West Virginia...

I've got a friend who lives near Lexington; He takes care of his vehicles but he says there are a lot of shitboxes on the road in Kentucky snd says the lack of inspections is to blame...

    Can you confirm?

I'm sure anywhere there is testing older shit boxes will be removed from the road so I would say no testing will lead to more shit boxes.

In New Jersey they got rid of safety inspections back in 2010 but kept emissions testing; What this translates to is shitboxes that are totally illegal as long as they don't pollute more than is considered acceptable!

Shitboxes aren't the problem. Plenty of aggressive or ignorant or stupid drivers in nicer cars.

Coming from a state with no safety inspections for non commerical vehicles (Illinois) to a state with safety inspections (North Carolina) I can tell you without a doubt there are far more shit boxes on the road down here than up there. Coupled with the god awfull southern driver's, safety inspections will make no difference in actual safety. This is also ignoring the fact that state mandated safety inspections are a joke to begin with and are nothing more than an additional tax added to registering a vehicle.

I used to think Illinois had terrible drivers but holy fawk it's insane down here. I have never seen so many red lights blown at 10mph under the speed limit in my life and probably .05% of driver's actually use a turn signal, ever. It's like slow motion chaos as people generally drive way below the speed limit on top of it.
