My truck was purchased new from Peruzzi Toyota on Route 309 in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. The MSRP of my truck was like $17K and change; My dad negotiated them down, got approximately $2,300 for the 1996 Nissan Pathfinder he traded (after initially getting an offer of like $1,600 and almost walking), and ended up paying like $15K when all was said and done. He put about $2K down, financed the rest at 0.9% APR (basically free money) through Citadel, and had the truck completely paid off by the beginning of 2013! He surprised me in December 2016 by saying that he was giving me the truck, no strings attached, as an early Christmas present; He transferred the title into my name a few days later!

Congrats! Sounds like you have a super reliable ride. I'm almost 12 years on mine and just had the frame replaced as well. Every time I get the itch for a new one I think about how reliable mine has been and that I may not get that lucky again. I'm at 155k and only drive 2k-5k annually so there is a lot of truck life left. Keep it clean and keep the fluids changed my friend!

I have a roughly 7-mile commute to work, so that's approximately 14 miles round trip per day if I only drive to and from work (which I don't)...

I took a break from DoorDash starting in June, so I've been putting in the range of 1,000-1,500 miles on my truck per month since then; It's the last day of September and this is how many miles I've put on my truck this month...

yeah, rp342. They coat stockpiled weapons in the stuff to inhibit rust. It is less liquid like than fluid film and doesn't flake off from what I've read and seen. I have six cans myself and will probably get to it this weekend.

Would it void the warranty on the new frame to use this stuff?

How hard is it to apply? Honestly, I'd probably pay someone with a lift to do it, or pay someone with a lift (like my mechanic) to let me use the space to do it myself...

And I am utterly ecstatic about getting a new frame; I was worried I was gonna have to sell my beloved Taco, which has a lot of sentimental value, and actually finance a new vehicle. I have good credit, but my current truck was paid off years ago and then gifted to me; Now I can focus on saving up for a down payment on a house again!

2019 was a record year for both me and my truck; Me because I went to more car shows in the summer of 2019 than any year prior (or since) and my truck because I put a good amount of miles on it driving to the aforementioned car shows! I also did Uber Eats from December 2018 to July 2019, and DoorDash from July 2019 to March 2020. I put a grand total of 18K miles on my truck in 2019; I was set for another recordbreaking year in 2020, but then COVID hit. I still managed to put an impressive 15K or so on my truck in 2020, which is more than every year prior to 2019, but still less both 2019 and 2021...

To give you an idea, I hit 100K on July 11th, 2019 and I hit 120K on November 3rd, 2020; I stopped doing DoorDash in March 2020 when COVID hit, so that played a major role in the amount of miles I put on my truck that year.

So, I hit 120K on November 3rd, 2020; I started doing DoorDash again at the end of January 2021 to make some extra money, and by the end of February 2021 I had almost 125K miles! By the time I went to the Carlisle Truck Nationals on August 6th, 2021 I had about 136K miles; It is now the last day of September, and I am less than 70 miles away from hitting 139K!

So, I hit 120K on November 3rd of last year; I will be shocked if I don't hit 140K before the end of October, which will officially mean that I have put more 20K miles on my truck in a year!

If I had to guess, I'd say that my truck will have somewhere between 141K and 142K on the clock by the time it goes in for the frame replacement. I plan to start doing DoorDash again before Thanksgiving, depending on when the new frame comes in; I guarantee you I will crack 150K before the official start of summer 2022! If I continue to put the amount of miles on my truck per year that I'm putting on it now, I'd imagine that I'll at a minimum be very close to hitting 200K by the end of 2024 (if I haven't passed it already)!

I’m surprised you left a few details out.

Like what the humidity was on the day you picked it up.

The OEU’s of the new car smell when you first opened the door.

The color of kakis the salesmen was wearing.

The brand of cologne the sales manager had on.

How many gray hairs the finance guy had.

How many RPM’s the cluster displayed while doing 56mph in the 55 on the way home.

How long the erection lasted from first seeing/buying the truck.
