Good looking out...gonna be checking these spots later today myself now haha

Brute Force Fab makes a bed rack that ties into the bed bolts rather than the bed rails. would require you to dump the shell though.

Last night I popped open my rtt. Seems all the wash board roads I drive caused one of the nuts holding the support bar to come off and the bolt back half way out. Took me about a half hour to get the thing back in. There is a threaded insert in the support bar that was spinning and I struggled to get it to hold still enough to get a nut on it. But I got it on and put a nylock nut on both sides. Long story short if you have an RTT and drive a lot of rough roads CHECK THE HARDWARE! I would have been pissed if I got to camp one night and the tent wouldn't open right or something worse.

Tuff Stuff Alpha II but I'm sure any other one is going to have some issues rattling loose over time. Always a good thing to look at them once in a while. The treads did look like they had some tape or something on there but it wasn't enough or something.

I can attest to this, I see the same with my 23 Zero. I have to snug my ladder mounts every handful of months because they rattle loose, and found a couple missing screws on the underside of the tent last time I opened it up.

I’ve got one, the nomadic 2. I’ve used it about 10 times this summer with only minor complaints. When it rains heavily, the area above the ladder likes to collect water.

The included mattress is pretty comfortable. The pillows suck. I plan to get a winter liner for it from another company so I can use it over the winter as well.

Yeah I wonder every time I crawl into my $750 smittybilt what the heck I would get for the difference a Tepui, ARB or CVT etc cost. I just can't see the value. I do like the hard shells like iKamper for a quicker setup, but of the soft fold outs, I just dont know what I am missing I guess lol.. I have about 40 nights with desert sun, wind storms, rain, snow, etc in my smittybilt and its still going strong. I did get the rain fly ripped off in a wind storm in Wyoming(plastic buckles broke), but its tied on with paracord currently and doing fine. No other issues other than a missing grommet on the window awning. Their solution was to send me a whole new tent shell free of charge. Its still in the box as my backup. If I run out of other things to buy I guess some day I will sell this and get an iKamper Skycamp Mini or something but as it stands, I cant complain..

It’s the Mt Hood medium. And I got it for 20% off because they just had a sale last week. They have fairly regular sales for all their tents and scratch and dent sales too if you follow their IG.

Awesome! I’m think I’m going with one of theirs. I tried to ask the guys at 23 zero a few questions about theirs and the guy couldn’t even be bothered to read my whole email. I tried for three days to get him to answer a few questions. Nothing too difficult. He sent me to his website which is outdated that he later acknowledged. Then he sent me a list of dealers which is also outdated. Terrible customer service. He acted like it was painful to type or read. I’ll buy someone else’s. Thanks for nothing

So I’m new to the RTT world & wondering if any of y’all have ever used the rhino rack heavy duty load bars for your tent? Says the weight rating is 260lbs., but I’m assuming that is dynamic??

I’m sure y’all can see from my profile picture, but here’s my RTT on my Prinsu cab rack! It’s not too bad up there, but it blocks my sunroof :/ I’m going to relocate it to the smartcap here soon if someone can vouch for the rhino rack load bars.

Anyways, anyone have a favorite camping spot in South Florida??
