Having a new issue where the seatbelt is clicked but the truck doesn't think it is. Doesn't seem to matter the temp or anything but did happen mostly when I got off from work and drove for 45 minutes (my commute is just over an hour fun fun). Tonight the truck had sat for 6 hours but happened almost immediately.

Pretty sure replacing the seat latch sensor would fix it, not sure I would if I have to pay for it since it's really just an annoyance...but was wondering if there's any recall/tsb anyone is aware of.

I know with honda they have a lifetime seatbelt warranty (had my 93 accords replaced free of charge in '05) but not sure about yota.

I'll call the dealer but wondering if anyone else is having this issue

Happened to my truck last week. I drove with the seat belt latched (front passenger side), parked the truck, disconnected the battery and it went away...I too was surprised. Also a '17 with 16k miles

If its the drivers seatbelt sensor then I would save my money and get one of the cracked copies of toyota techstream floating around here and just use that to turn the alarm off permanently.

TS does rock, but there will still be the annoying dash light if it is the switch in the seat belt buckle.

I don't think it is possible, but possibly disassembling the buckle and cleaning it? Also, I have fixed switches by hitting them with electrical contact cleaner, but other parts of the Taco might not like it?

I'll have to research that. Didn't know there were
    <_<

"cheaper" versions of ts...damn it's pricey "oem"

Not a bad idea, could also just be a loose connector...it's pretty intermittent so might be a loose wire too. Problem is location so it would be pain in the ass to access

Mostly curious if this was common or not ;)

    I agree with that.

Not common at all from what I have seen posted here.

On Ford's and GM's that used the TRW buckles you would find lint would block the contacts. It's possible you have the same issue. Try blowing it out with compressed air or a can of keyboard cleaner.

Does the airbag and other safety systems change behavior if a seatbelt warning is active? Something to consider if going to turn off the chime or just ignore it.
