Never said it was bull shit. I 100% believe dumb people exist that don't know how to safely use spring compressors. Just like there are dumb people who don't know how to use jack stands, high lift jacks, chain saws, and plenty of other tools and equipment that can injure, maim, or kill you.

I said understand how the tool works before using it.

 

Do you know how to walk? Have you ever tripped walking? So are you a dumb person for tripping? Accidents happen, stop pretending like accidents happen to only “dumb people”

 

Can we please go back to arguing over tire size or oil change frequency?

Costco wont install tires bigger than stock, and I change my oil every 5k miles.... suck it everyone else.

 

I do have my moments, I won't deny it.

 

Finally got around to actually ordering this kit, Hoping to get it installed before the snow flies and while the wife is at work so she doesnt see me lifting the truck....

I went with the full kit (springs and blocks) Since I dont really offroad, the blocks in the rear are just fine for me.

 

Hopefully they have the blocks in now. I ordered early July and when I hadn't heard anything by Aug 1, I called and they said the whole kit was being held up by the blocks that wouldn't be available until Dec. I cancelled and just ordered the springs.

So I just got off the phone, Tanner said it looks like its all back in stock now and my order should be shipping out today! wooohooo!

 

Got my shipping notice, springs and rear blocks are on their way! Should be in next week. Going to do the blocks first, then the springs another day. Since I dont have a spring compressor, I will be using the jack the truck up method to compress the spring and remove the strut.

 

Does the spring ever stop squeaking? Been running this spring for almost 1000 miles and the squeak seems to be getting louder.

 

No. I've been running the test springs since early February. Been squeaking since early February. I've tried a handful of things with no luck.

Thought it was loose top hat bolts. Removed them, locktite, retorque. Still squeaks.
Thought it might be some dirt between the spring and isolator. Washed with pressure washer at the car wash. Used the compressor to dry and blow out any debris. Still squeaked.
Ran out of ideas, so I tried WD40 (the no drip variety). Worked for about a day. Then it was dirtier then ever and squeaked more.
Washed them again and just deal with it.

 

Wow I feel lucky, I don't have any issues with my '19 front springs squeaking at all. I did hear some squeaking a week after I installed everything, but turns out it was coming from my rear leaf springs. Sprayed the rear leafs and the gaps with Motorcycle chain lube and the squeaking stopped completely.

 

Emailed eibach. They said no one has reported this issue on this specific kit to date. I linked this thread but I would get in touch with them and mention it so that they can make adjustments if necessary. I mean… not to be a dick but isn’t the purpose of a test truck to make sure the product fits, works as stated, and eliminate issues like this prior to production? Sounds like the squeaks were mentioned in February when you first installed. If nothing is said obviously nothing happens.

 

Any updates on the release of the 2020 springs?

Hopefully they're working out the kinks -- I mean squeaks -- with this version.

 

LMAO… The test trucks never mentioned it to eibach so no it probably won’t be addressed. The feedback they received from me doesn’t matter. Too little too late.

 

Not sure what other prototype testers have or haven't reported back to Eibach, but I emailed at length with the engineer who was doing the R&D with my experiences. I never spoke to anyone in sales. Per my last conversation, there were some tweaks before production on the 17-19 springs. Maybe why squeaks haven't been widespread?
