Well, I know the GM Russ is a good family man who actually called me, while in Montana for his son’s baseball game, because I was frustrated with something. From there (naturally), things went smoothly. The lot is bare. They for sure have a few new ones this week, but many are rentals. My sales guy said that every single one of his sales this month were a preorder. I’m pretty sure very few places are letting folks haggle these days.

Some bs. Clear film for doors and paint less dent removal and infra red vin # labeling. Gonna try and talk them out of it. I already have a good amount for a down-payment. But I'll walk if I have too. I can wait til this shortage is over. I already call Beaverton Toyota and they told me $1000 deposit. Royal Moore is the worst mark up. See my post ^

Sounds like he did the right thing for you! Yeah, I meant the no haggle in general pre-covid. At that time others dealers beat their offer by thousands. However, now they are only dealer I know of not selling at msrp or above. Times are a crazy.

You aren’t wrong! It was a selling point for the MT PRO. From what I’ve been told on this forum, they were never sold for under MSRP. My concern is that, once all this madness ends, new now/then use Tacoma prices are going to plummet.

The clear care elite package comes with ceramic coating, paintless dent repair, and wheel repair, but I don’t know about all that other stuff. Not trying to flex, but I didn’t have to put money down there, but I understand why they are asking for one now. Just let me know if you change your mind about the referral. They might even waive the fee if you’re a good actor and convince them we’re homies!

Forsure. But I think dealership have name for this gimmick sh*t. From I read from gresham toyota website. It's nothing impressive lol. I'll stop by this Friday at the dealership to see if there's any updates on the car build.

I would check into exactly what brand and type of ceramic coating is it going to be applied. Ceramic coatings vary wildly from worthless to amazing. Crappy ones can cause problems down the line. Make sure they are putting on a good one. Even if it takes you shelling out a couple hundred bucks to get a better one.

Sweet, that's tomorrow! Please report back here if you find out that it was (or wasn't) built on schedule - my build date is Monday. Same truck but green.

Also - the dealership here is about 2 miles from my house, so I've been cruising through the lot every couple days to look at the pre-sold Tacomas as they roll through the back lot on their way to their new homes. There was a black TRD OR there yesterday; it was gorgeous.

For the last decade before Covid, my observation has been that it was pretty typical to see a 2 year old Tacoma with ~20,000 miles sell for ~10% less than MSRP. It's higher than that now - there's an '18 with 30,000 miles going for $600 less than new at the dealership near me - but when the car market starts to level out, history says the Tacoma's resale value will still be higher than most other vehicles.

$45K OTD for a TRD PRO sounds off. is this a 2018 model year? Are you tax exempt?

Good catch. No, a 2021, but there's no sales tax in Oregon and I transferred my plates over from my FJ. In the spirit of complete honesty, it was probably closer to 45.5k.

Thank you so much for your valuble information. That extended warranty is the thing I was thinking back and forth about. I probably will cancel it before the next payment.

Or this will be way cheaper but I think you may not be able to do this since you’ve already purchased one. Worth looking into. Genuine Toyota warranty. Not third-party. At a significant discount

I hate getting involved in the argument.. But was shopping in March for my Tacoma at Wilsonville Toyota they did not have what I wanted. The sales guy showed what allocations were arriving soon and I found one close to what I wanted. He told me if nothing in the current allocation worked I'd have to wait until the next allocation and hope one would match or be close to what I wanted.
I waited 2 weeks for my allocated truck to arrive. That's not an order it's picking from a future allocation.
