I saw a place in Oxford with a Woolwax sign outside, I may check there. My CMC is already looking a little rusty after 1 year. I put on mudflaps to hopefully help.

With fall fishing, bird hunting starting earlier and the moose hunt....the NMW is a shit show for a couple weeks. I'll go up when it's eased up.

Amen, but you can go further into the woods and avoid people. People ask why we drive 90 miles for birds, we don't. We drive 90 miles to feel like we're on the edge of the earth, and the bird hunting isn't bad either.

Yesterday a bird hunter shot someone, so I think you might be on to something by waiting.

Anyone got a compressor and gun? I would be down for sure. Not really into paying for it when it can be done for cheap at home

Not discounting what happened and it is unacceptable, 100%. The person who shot someone was turkey hunting and turkeys are birds, but in the area of game management, turkey hunting falls into big game hunting and not small game hunting. Why am I calling it out? Turkey hunting is the most common hunting to result in hunters shooting other people. This has to do with the tactics of turkey hunting and the proximity to the animal. For the most part, Fall turkey hunting in the NMW is closed. Statistically, you are more likely to pick up hunting and fall out of a tree stand and than to get hurt from other hunters. The news loves to sensationalize the stories of terrible, avoidable tragedies, but never talk about how you are more likely to die driving to/in the NMW woods than you are to be killed by a hunter. Bird hunters pose little threat to other recreators on the land, as do moose hunters. Moose hunters will tend to be more novice in the woods and are more likely to be breaking etiquette or rules in the woods, but we are talking about a few hundred tags of a million acres.

Thanks for the clarification, I didn’t know any of the details of this incident. I myself am not a hunter, but come from a family that does, I understand it’s value.

I'lll likely be doing this come Sunday on the 17th weather pending..

    @SR-71A

    I have:

    set of ramps (2)
    plastic drop cloth
some wire brushes, and some semi gloss black spray paint to touch up
air compressor 30 gallon craftsman (someone have better/spare?)
air hose 50' with high flow kobalt(?) fittings
    woolwax gun w/ 1 bottle
    gloves
    * can get a biosuit or two, or just get some spray suits from harbor freight.

1 gallon for my 2 vehicles Tacoma & 4 runner. planning to get another gallon for more coverage, and to do the daughters car as well... and a coworker of mine wants to do his F-150...

    would be nice to have:
    another set of ramps.
a piece of hose w/ cap and holes for the closed frame sections (wollwax makes a piece)
another bottle or two for the gun
a wide mouthed funnel to load the bottles.. stuff is goopy

Is there anything you should avoid (other then brakes and exhaust) under the truck with wool wax?

Nothing I've found yet. Probably don't spray it in the check hole on the transmission if you can help it.
