Make sure the brushes move freely. I was able to salvage a bad actuator because one of them was sticking.

I attached the fsm, that should help you figure it out.

I (finally) replaced my headlights. For some extra light I replaced the OEM bulbs with Phillips Racing Visions and I also threw on a Amazon light bar. I used the skid plate mounting points way down low to keep me looking stock. 20210929_180440_HDR.jpg 20210929_190902_HDR.jpg IMG_20210929_194619_421.jpg 20210929_220830_HDR.jpg 20210929_220849_HDR.jpg

Yeah that's the toyota lube they put in all their actuators and it's not cheap. I need to rebuild my locker actuator soon and I plan on just trying diaelectric grease.

That's more realistic. Most of what I saw was like a tub the size of a Vicks container for like $30.

Ain't gonna be cheap. I can tell you that much.
I haven't really heard of anyone breaking the manual stub shaft though. Only the small ADD one.

Added a slim light bar to the bumper which replaced the one I had behind my grill before and wired it all up last night. The lights inside the bumper are either white or yellow which gives me fog light capability :)

Drove to Denver Colorado. (About an hour from myself) for a $200 topper. Unfortunately got stuck in traffic for over 2 hours on the way back, (really wish people would stop moving here). Seemed like a steal in my opinion considering it’s almost same color.

Ebay airbox showed up today. Looks pretty decent for $80 shipped, except the fasteners being installed upside down. Gotta pullem and switch them around then it’s ready to pop in.

Regardless, it’ll be better than my cracked and busted stock one.

Thanks for the FSM pdf. I tried to pull it up front the sticky thread but it was redirecting to a second gen diagram

The brushes all seemed to be in working order but the electric motor is toasted. It would be nice if you could just replace the electric motor

Dorman makes a replacement at around $220

OEM from the nearest dealer is $500

Ha this I know it won't be cheap. And yeah my theory originally was to replace the ADD setup with a manual setup with the theory that the way the ADD works allows some deflection under load. So I thought going manual would be an easy solve, and I could carry a spare tube and swap that on the trail in 30 mins compared to what you need to do to remove the ADD tube to get a busted stub shaft out. But then I saw this, and it made me think getting the shaft made by RCV might be worth it.

Anyone know the length/size of the 4 bolts used to attach the manual tube to the front diff?

    Dang. Is that your picture?
That sucks. Reminds of the guys that break CV's and the spline side gets stuck in the diff.

"Master Tailgaters" makes several rear view mirror with a lot of bells and whistles including WiFi transmitter, internal battery, and G shock sensors.
They look identical to the mirrors in the 2nd and 3rd gen tacos

They have several options to choose from and can be found on Amazon.

I installed one a couple months back but have hardly messed with it

Some of the menu options are obviously translated from Chinese and not very well haha
