The only thing the Rays are fighting for is homefield advantage through the ALCS, and if they win just 1 of their next 5 games they have it. Houston would have to win all the rest of their games with TB losing all theirs.

Only talking about the races, not the ones already determined. Houston and Milwaukee are also absent from the conversation but I admit I’ve ignored Tampa too. Personally I give the advantage to teams that have to fight to the end since it’s not easy to flip the switch and suddenly become playoff ready. How long has it been since any pitch mattered in Tampa, Milwaukee, or Houston and it’s another week or more before it does again. I think that’s why it’s not uncommon for a wild card team to win it all. Temper that with how teams are playing at the end and how close to full strength they are but you never really know in advance which one will have that something extra that carries them through.

Cards making one of the most historic runs ever and am so glad I have been witness.
Just a month ago, a buddy of mine, a Cubs fan, and myself said "Welp, time to start preparing for hunt camp"

Not so fast buddy.... we got some postseason to play.
Although I don't consider the one game play-in the "Postseason", if they get past that, then it's postseason to me.

Oh, and we had a bet. Cubs or Cards, whoever has best record, the loser has to buy the winner a new Jersey. Looks like im getting a new powder blue Cards jersey this year!!

It's gotta be a Molina or Waino jersey... the heart and soul of that team!!!

Mariners had the Rays number this year, granted it was lower stakes, but they could make it interesting.

Meanwhile the Rays could do Seattle a favor by sweeping the Yankees

Padres doing their best to throw a second game in a row with back to back jacks to lead of the bottom of the 1st. They’ve been shit against the Dodgers since the All Star break(0 wins - 9 losses). That Tatis gets consideration as mvp is a joke.

Seattle has moved into a tie with Boston for the second AL wild card spot but needs to finish ahead because Boston won the season series 4-3 and that’s the first tie breaker between out of division teams.
