Could the plug and play headlight harness be used to power say the back lighting to a diode dynamics pod light?

Yes. But if you want it on with DRL and parking lights you need diodes to combine it.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
They go online but only allow current to go in one direction. Eliminating backfeed.

Mine didn't go dim with the headlights. Do I have to disengage the parking break or put it in drive for them to dim?

That would be correct...:D On with Parking Brake released, then set it again. Leave window open, then turn the light stalk to parking take a look, then to low beam then take a look.

@caribe makaira thank you for the numerous options you’ve thrown out there as possibilities. The window taps worked perfectly for me with all features. I’m only missing the “stalk control” which I honestly never touch anyway.

@Rainoffire and @Skydvrr thank you guys for assisting with info as well. This forum is a great resource with guys willing to share their knowledge.

Dude I did the same shit  in this pic, u can see the red heat shrink. Well that's where the red lead from the V5's should have gone. Well I didn't notice that at first, so I de-pinned the puddle harness then slipped heat shrink over and heated it. Then tested it and realized what I did :annoyed:

Disclaimer: this worked for me, not sure if it works for everyone in the same situation.

For those with the v2 puddle pods connecting to the v5 lights, the provided harness to connect to the existing puddle pod connector has a black wire and a black wire with white dashes. These would be connected to the red and white wire harness that connects to the v5 turn signals. The black wire connected to the red (bright) and the black with white dash connected to the white (dim).

again this is what worked for me and I’m just posting in case some one else needed a starting point. I was able to get everything connected, tested, and confirmed working. Sadly I’m falling into the same boat as others where some of the white drl leds are out/dead and put in a ticket. Thankfully the next install will be much simpler.

Which either means MESO is a different pinout than DSIM or I'm mis-reading the DSIM wiring diagram?

    https://dsimsolutions.com/pages/domerock-v4-3rd-gen-tacoma-installation-instructions

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ultimate-led-turn-signals.486423/page-523#post-26313024

But the MESO pigtail on the puddles (at least mine) appears to have the dashed wire next to yellow rather than red.

TLDR, @Shawny5ive it would appear that if you trace your wires through you're connecting white on the v5 switchbacks to white on the puddle 4 pin (through the extra pieces in between.) That sound right as the easy rule (trace white through to white and red is the other one.)

Not 100% I’m following what you’re saying. My problem was I used my own wire I had (yellow and blue) to run from the mirror into the door. When connecting to the White and Green factory wires I mixed up which was which inadvertently.

Glad everything worked out for you!

You technically can have "stalk control" if you don't mind them being at full bright and not having a dim function. Just don't use the white wire, and move the red wire to where you tapped the white wire to. This way the drls will only come on when you switch to parking/dash illumination on the stalk.
