You can retire whenever you want but you can’t access your 401K without penalties until you’re over 55. Once you reach age 72 you HAVE to take a certain amount out, annually. Note that I am not a financial adviser, so do your own research, but I am over 55 and under 72. So that makes me an expert . Back to a bike-related topic, I helped our local trail guru flag 2000’ of new trail today through thick brush above our heads, on a 50% side slope, with lots of poison oak. 2000’ may not sound like much but it was like climbing 2000’ in 1/2 a mile on the bike. Took 4 of us, 4 hours. Support your local trail builders!

 

Well sure but penalties become less consequential when you can diversify earlier because your retirement goals were reached at 45 because your 10% effective raise. There are also multiple other vehicles available outside of 401k that can be accessed earlier without penalty

Little wild rainbow right off the trail parking lot. There are no Goldens in the mountains of GA or NC that I know of. We do have them home in idaho though...

 

Losing my touch. I live in Colorado with abundance of Rainbows, can’t believe I missed that, but I thought you were in Idaho.

 

5,400 mile trip in 12 days. Got to only ride 120 miles of dirt in the 7 leisure days I had but I got an amazing taste of what is out West. Favorite day was TWE. I’ll be riding that in my head for the next few months!

Next up: Tennessee and North Georgia!

 

Utah is riding so good right now, and the leaves are insane.
