With that design you could easily match with FDE or grey

 

I'm sure it'd look good, but I'm a bit weird with that stuff on guns. I'd want all matching

 

Nothing wrong with that at all. I haven’t cared what they looked like really , all black, until I built this one and decided I wanted OD green stuff on it. Now I’ve probably put more of stuff on it than I should but when I saw the cost of cerakote for just the hand guard I settled for this stuff. They sent the pic rail clips with the build kit I ordered the grip panels and got to choose grip and stock color. At least it matches. Bipod comes today I’d have ordered that in OD green if Magpul offered it. I’m going to have to shoot more to decide on all the stuff on the hand guard

That's back when you get get a builder's sets from Schyuler Arms for $300ish. Those were the days.....

Yep I think those days have come and gone. Everything just keeps going up.

 

I checked Schyuler this morning. They have a decent stock. Might even pick up a M4E1 upper

 

Those are really cool. Sadly the Army one appears to be the least spectacular but the Airforce one is particularly cool

 

Yeah, the Air Force is my favorite. I wish I had gotten each one when they were out. That would have been a cool collection.....but I knew I'd want the whole set since I never served and don't have any personal ties to a particular branch

 

Had to bail on the shoot this morning due to last minute obligations so I decided to go ahead and make my rifle look a little less pieced together.
Local Lowe’s was out of ODG paint so the green is a little brighter than I wanted but it’ll do, next coat will be brown and will help subdue the green a little.

What type of paint did you use? It looks good

 

It’s still a little tacky but I’m pretty happy with it.

 

It was a mix. The OD is Krylon camo paint, the brown is Krylon color max, and the black/ dark grey is some scrap Duplicolor

 

Installed the pressure pad mount and a Magpul vertical grip. I’ve never used one before but figured worth a try

 

That Coast Guard one is sweet.

I’ve been running the Magpul vertical grip for years, I like it. I’ve always wanted to try the BCM one because it’s a smidge shorter but I’ve just never gotten around to picking one up.

 

Got my EPC buffer kit, grip, and BCG for the 300blk
