Because they like to be able to fly across the field at 60mph with 1000lbs in the bed, ping off two rocks, and have a heated seat at the same time lol. Speaking from experience.

welp If reliability is your main concern you already have truck for that. TRX’s aren’t reliable. Neither is anything with the Hellcat power train. The Hellcat motor isn’t usually the problem, but it’s just everything else that breaks. 702 HP in a chassis that was made for 400 can result in dumb things happening. One pretty common failure is the rear ends breaking after too many launches. Another common failure point is oil cooler lines breaking. A majority of the issues won’t happen with normal driving, but then what’s the point of driving a 700hp truck? Plus fuel economy is going to be pretty bad, 8-13 mpg is pretty normal stock. Also, a TRX will be worse off-road than a Tacoma due to size, plus on most trails 700hp isn’t going to be need. Plus it’s heavy which doesn’t help either .

I have also seen him show up in town with his "farm truck" with two BROKEN raptor wheels in the back. He dropped it into an irrigation ditch at about 60...

Told ya. Lol. We use beaters so when we do that we just snap the frame, drag it off the field with the tractor, and use it for parts for the other 15 beaters we have.

You literally do not know anything about the TRX. Incredible how many people in here are blasting the TRX with clearly knowing exactly zero about it. Seems like a lot of jealous poor people in here.

Here is a picture of my 2019 Hellcat Redeye. I owned it for 4 months and it’s the one vehicle I regret buying. Had at least 8 warranty claims in those 4 months so I sold it and used the money to buy rental properties.

since your a TRX and Hellcat expert then you would know that they aren’t that reliable. :)

What were your 8 warranty claims?

The first one was due to defective oil cooler lines. 2nd was do to a issue with the passenger side window regulator. 3rd was due to paint chipping on rear driver fender flare. 4th was due to a electrical issue with the battery randomly being drained. 5th was the transmission not shifting from 3rd to 4th above 4,500 rpm. 6th was oil cooler line a 2nd time. 7th was weather striping on driver door being defective. And 8th was the battery issue again. The car covered ended up being covered by lemon law luckily and dodge had to buy it back from me. It was fun while I had it, but not fun enough to justify reliability plus cost.

Other than the oil cooler lines the rest of those warranty issues are not uncommon with 3rd gen Tacomas either.

They are common some what for all vehicles, but for all of them to happen on a vehicle that a good chunk of change is unacceptable.

Otherwise the insane loan payments would be a monthly reminder of what you spent.

The TRX was designed from the ground up with a completely new frame and a ton of TRX specific parts.

Slow down there Tinkerbell, don't get your tutu in a wad. FCA products have a well earned reputation for being absolute junk and everyone knows this. I'd love to hear they're trying to improve things, but we all know that if they are, the reliability benchmark they're shooting for is Toyotas.

I don't know what part of the country you're from, but in the civilized world, a truck spontaneously engulfing itself in flames is a design fuckup many orders of magnitude worse than a stalling motor. If you're going to cherry pick issues about Toyota, go after the Claymore airbags they allowed in their vehicles for so many years ;)

I sold my supercharged 2nd Gen with a bunch of mods for mine and I don’t regret it. As far as reliability I think every brand will have good and bad things. My Tacoma that I bought new and had 130k when I sold it had a faulty water pump within the first 2 months.

Well the TRX is AWD and has a full floating rear end so if you do manage to break it I’d be impressed. Fuel economy on my 2nd Gen with 35’s was 15mpgs on a good day and anyone with heavy ass tires probably gets in the same vicinity
